Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Esports has commenced the MPL MY Season 13 where Red Giants Esports became the champion. This is the first major title for the team after defeating the defending champion HomeBois in the grand finals. The champion Red Giants Esports has qualified for the MSC 2024 while the runner-up will play on the wildcard stage of the same event.
Starting on the 29th of March 2024, MPL MY Season 13 showcased 10 teams from the country. It also featured a total of $100,000 prize pool. MOONTON along with IO Esports organized the offline event.
MPL MY Season 13 champion won against the defending champion HomeBois
On the run to the trophy, the champion Red Giants Esports showed off their worth from the regular season The team finished at the top and advanced to the Playoffs where the first match was against King Empire. A sweep 3-1 win made the team move to the next round to face off RSG Malaysia.
On the other hand, defending champion HomeBois started the event as a favorite and one of the biggest threats to the others. However, the team lost its first match of the Playoffs against RSG Malaysia by a 0-3 scoreline. With lots of experience in the bag, the team again crawled up to the grand finals to meet the champion Red Giants.
Defending champion HomeBois started the grand final with winning the first round. The latter two went to the champion’s pocket but the fourth round was taken by HomeBois. While fans were expecting another high-voltage final, Red Giants Esports struck the last nail in HomeBois’ coffin and won two consecutive rounds to become the champion of MPL MY.
MPL MY Season 13 champion won the largest share, remains undefeated
The event featured a total of ~MYR 468,000 (USD 100,000) as the prize money. Being the champion, Red Giants Esports took the biggest portion and also a direct seat in the upcoming MSC 2024. The total breakdown of the prize pool is as follows.

Red Giants to represent Malaysia at MSC 2024 in Saudi Arabia
Winning the trophy brought a huge cash to the champion’s account. But the most lucrative reward was the qualification for the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The team will carry the Malaysian flag to walk among the global giants on the international stage.
The grand finals of MPL MY season 13 were lighted by the presence of Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Zahid bin Hamidi. Besides, the most anticipated event in Malaysia set a new viewership record as well. It reached 610,943 peak concurrent viewers.
As the team will represent Malaysia on the global stage, their coach Michael “Arcadia” Angelo Bocado sounded very optimistic. “Going to MSC, we’re confident that we can fight against the top teams,” he said. Now, with the Malaysian flag to bear, the team is also motivated by the words of the Deputy Prime Minister. “Engrave the brilliant name of Malaysia on the international stage,” he said.
