Although the basics of the game have been almost the same, new features that are added present us with some exciting new challenges to go through and invite former or even new players in to try the game. Asphalt Legends Unite gameplay doesn’t differ much from the original game, as we have similar gameplay mechanics here too. The objective of the game is simple, race and finish first. Most of the races are set in visually stunning tracks, as with this new iteration we also have night mode tracks that light up the screen, and old maps being visually upgraded too.
The game comes with multiple gamemodes, including Multiplayer and Career modes, with Challenges being added as well. Much isn’t needed to talk about the controls, as the game gives you the option to choose any type of option among the three available currently. Apart from the UI refresh, most of the options remained the same with the Asphalt 9 series.
Asphalt Legends Unite Cars and Racing
As you progress, you can unlock and upgrade a wide range of vehicles, from sports cars to hypercars, which can be viewed from the Garage. There are five tiers of cars you can unlock, D, C, B, A, and S. D is the lowest tier, and S is the highest tier of cars. You also have a section for filtering out the cars based on the brand, ownership, stars, and rank, so you can check your requirements and follow the same.
Now, let us come to the racing aspect of this game. Apart from the cars, another important aspect of the game is the Nitros. There are four types of Nitros available to you, each marked by a different color. Yellow, Blue, Orange, and Purple are the ones, with Yellow being the most basic of them and Purple being the most powerful. The bar on the top of your game screen indicates what Nitro Boost is currently active.
More to the car abilities are the Dodging, Barrell Roll, and 360 Turn abilities you can do. Dodge is to help you counter incoming cars by tackling them. Meanwhile, Barrel Roll is a corkscrew jump off your car by launching off curved ramps at high speed. A 360 roll is kind of similar, but it spins your car from the same driving position either in the air or on the ground.

While we are inching closer to the final section of the beginners’ guide, let’s dive in on some useful tips to know and master in Asphalt Legends Unite.
1. Touchdrive controls for beginners
For beginners, I recommend Touchdrive, one of the successful controls where you need to steer via swiping your screen as it auto-accelerates. Tap to Steer and Tilt to Steer are two other options, while the latter does give a sense of involvement in your game, but will take time for those who haven’t involved themselves in a racing title.
2. Master the Drift
If you play the game, you will understand how important drifting is in this game. A lot of players whom I face might have superior cars and also get a better start, but what they fail at is using this feature at the right place on track and at the right time.
Most of you make the mistake of drifting on the straights, where your car is picking up the highest pace. Don’t do that. Instead, drift around corners, fill up the bar, and then utilize them on straights or jumps. This is essential for maintaining speed and earning nitro boosts. Practice all the boosts as well as your timing to perfect this skill.
3. Learn the Track Layouts
Most of us like to just jump into races and then straight away expect to win. But it isn’t easy when we do not know how the tracks are. So, it is important to familiarize yourself with the track layouts to know when to drift, boost, or take shortcuts.
This also helps us in getting shortcuts. Many tracks have hidden shortcuts that can save you valuable seconds. There will always be some or the other event running in this game, and here is where you need to utilize it fully. In the Daily Events section, you can see the list of games or events that are being featured for you, and you can participate in any of them depending on your strengths.
Yes, they do have tickets to burn, but you will also have free tries highlighted in these events. Hence, you can get a complete understanding of this event and help you to progress further as a beginner. A similar tip is for the Special Events, however, you might need to make significant progress to unlock the cars.
5. Upgrade your cars wisely
A simple yet very essential tip indeed. This game has so many cars, but the main focus should be on upgrading the key stats of your favorite cars and not collecting all. Prioritize Star Ups that improve speed, acceleration, and nitro efficiency, as these will have the most impact on your performance.
6. Wrapping the Daily Goals
Another major part of making significant progress is to complete specific tasks each day to earn extra rewards. You can find the section in the Daily Goals menu, where you can earn Asphalt Tokens and an even higher tier of rewards if you complete the Goal Combo.
