Champions Elite Football Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks
Here are some useful in-game tips in our Champions Elite Football guide for beginners to get channelized in the right direction and progress across divisions in no time by assembling their best possible line-up.
1. En-cash on the Daily Login Rewards
Even if you don’t have the required time to play the game on a given day, at least make sure you are logging in once. Each day when you log in, the game rewards you with some login bonuses/freebies in the form of in-game Gold currency and Cash. To collect the same, you must navigate to the calendar icon located at the upper right corner of the home screen. The rewards get re-shuffled every week with Day 1 of the first week starting from the first day you log in.
While the in-game currencies can help you add a handful of good players to your line-up, train them, and upgrade the facilities of your stadium, if you are in your very first week, the game would reward you with a free Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi Player card on the 2nd and 7th day respectively.
In addition to this, a free player pack would be added to your slot and be ready for opening after every 4 hours. Do not miss out on bagging them as they can add the much-needed boost to your line-up that would be weak to start with.
2. Do not forget to upgrade the Club Level and Stadium Facilities from time to time
Upgrading your Club Level helps you unlock new formations for your line-up, unlock new playing mentalities, as well as increasing the seating capacity of your home stadium. This in turn ensures more revenue to the Club as more stadium tickets would get sold and earn you more in-game Gold and Cash currencies in each match.
Upgrading your Club Level and Stadium facilities requires spending in-game Cash currency. Do not hesitate to spend your saved Cash currencies in his section as you earn more if you spend more. Also, you can get your hands on new formations that just open up more options to strategize in each match.
3. Train your squad members to increase their OVR rating
Besides upgrading your club facilities, it is also important that you train your squad members. Choosing the correct drill for your player is equally important and should be based on the role that he would be playing in your line-up.
Like, for instance, if you are looking to train your key-striker, then, choosing the Finishing Drills is the best way to go. If you are training someone from the wings or midfield, you can select the running drills for them as they might need to make long runs.
- To start with, navigate to the Training section located at the bottom left corner of the game screen.
- Up next, you must add your desired squad member to the available slots by tapping on the plus icon. As a newbie, you will only have two available slots. That is, you can only train two squad members at a time.
- Pick the player of your choice next and will be navigated to the Drill Selection page.
Choose the appropriate drill for your squad member and initiate the training for him by spending a certain amount of in-game cash. It may take up to several hours for the training to be complete. Once complete, it would enhance the in-game performance of your player by increasing their OVR by 1 or 2 places.
4. Lay stress on the Daily, Club, and Seasonal objectives
As a newbie, you will have very limited resources to start with. Hence, each day when you log in, do not forget to check out the Objectives section. The in-game Objectives section is navigable from the upper right corner of the game screen. Look for the Star icon.
By default, you will be on the daily objectives tab. As the name suggests, these objectives refresh daily. Fret not, the challenges set here are pretty easy to complete like winning 3 games on the trot, training a player card, etc. Completing these daily challenges can earn you the much-needed in-game Gold and Cash resources.
Besides that, there are some seasonal challenges set for you. Each season usually lasts for 90 days. Completing these seasonal challenges helps you stack up experience points that earn you not just the regular in-game resources but also Player packs and sometimes individual player cards as well.
And then, there is a third tab keeping an account of your club-level milestones like completing the first 10 matches, 100 matches, and so on, with the club. Hence, make sure you are utilizing the Objectives section to the fullest, to get a hold of all these rewards that can help you climb up the divisions quickly.
5. Exchange your squad members with Elite and World Class Players from Player Exchange
You may exchange your squad members for Elite and world-class soccer stars in Champions Elite Football. If you navigate to the Exchange section from the Game’s home screen you will see that there are two types of available exchanges, the Regular and the Challenge exchange.
In the General exchange section, you can add your players/squad members in the empty slots. You can add multiple squad members. The average OVR rating of the players added will be taken into consideration. Say, you add two players in two slots. One of them has an OVR of 74 and the other one has an OVR of 76. The average OVR rating becomes 75. Based on this average OVR rating, you will be getting a random player having an OVR rating of +80.
In the Challenge exchange, the rules are the same. However, unlike the Regular exchange, the Challenge exchange gets you a guaranteed superstar player. The average rating required to bag that player and the number of players that need to be exchanged would be dictated under the criteria.
Again, to exchange your soccer stars, you need to spend a certain amount of In-game Cash Currency. Initially, you can look to get good deals from the Regular Exchange. However, you can start checking out the Challenge exchange section once you have leveled up your squad members a bit as it can fetch soccer superstars like Mbappe to your line-up.
6. Strategize your game plan based on the available squad formations
Picking the right men in the starting line-up is crucial for winning games in Champions Elite Football. Before the start of each match, you get to choose your formation and tactic. See what formations are already unlocked and then decide on your game strategy.
To start with, you will only have the 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, and 4-3-1-2 formations unlocked. Besides these three, the game offers Attacking, Ultra-Attacking, Defensive, and Ultra-Defensive formations as well that need to be unlocked by upgrading the Club level. 4-2-3-1 can be a good formation to go with, in the initial divisions of Champions Elite Football.
We would suggest you avoid 4-4-2 initially as it would be asking too much from your already weak midfield line-up. First, train them for running drills and get their stamina increased before experimenting with the formation. Additionally, do not forget to change your squad whenever you are signing a new/high-rated player. If you are confused as to who you should pick in your line-up, you can tap on the Auto Pick option and the game will pick the best possible line-up (by OVR) for you.
7. Change your directions quickly while dribbling past your opponent
The best part about Champions Elite Football is its simple touch and swipe controls. However, the part that is a bit complex is changing directions while sprinting. If you complete the tutorial provided when you launch the game for the first time, you will know that to dribble past your opponent you must tap on the vacant area.
Your player will run with the ball over there, and when your opponent tries to run you down there, you must quickly tap on the second vacant area and gradually move upwards on the pitch. However, if your player is not quick enough, you may be blocked in the middle of those two points by a running opposition player from the other end and lose possession in the process.
The simple hack for this is sprinting past your opponent rather than doing a normal run. To perform a sprint, simply double-tap the vacant area instead of a single tap as has been advised in the dribbling tutorial. This ensures that your player runs faster than your opponent would have anticipated.
8. Watch ads at the beginning of a match to boost your players’ stats
Sometimes at the start of the game, you will be given the option to watch ads for enhancing the stats of your top three squad members.
If you tap on the watch ad option under all three of them individually and see the ad, a +1 boost would be added to the Overall stats of those three squad members for just that game. Just be sure you are en-cashing on this jump-start offer every time it pops up.
Final Thoughts
Still, in its beta phase, Champions Elite Football has already attracted a huge chunk of soccer simulation fans. The players being FIFPRO licensed come with their real names, a thing of pleasure indeed for the fans. The gameplay and style of progressing up the divisions somewhat resemble that of Dream League Soccer’s offline mode.
Overall, it’s a good take by the Developers at Invincible Studios. However, there is always room for improvement and the game is still in its beta phase. It’s open to you soccer fans to just go out and try the game and provide your valuable feedback so that the developers can further improvise here.
