Soul Sealed Blade

Styx is one of the best assassins in Champions Legion. He has incredible mobility attributes, helping him to easily rotate through the entire map, supporting other teammates. Styx is one of the cheapest heroes to be available in the game but worth more on the CL battlefield. With the right set of combinations and gameplay, Styx can be very lethal during the entire gameplay. In this guide, we will be seeing these ban-worthy hero skills, items, partners, as well as some tips and tricks on how to play Styx in Champions Legion.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other Champions Legion heroes like Norah, Cleo, Clawdia, and Mikal. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Styx.

Skill Analysis

Styx is a hero that has four abilities which are one passive and three actives. In this Styx guide, let’s see what are his abilities in Champions Legion, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.

Passive – Assassination Proficient

Passive

Casting ability gains 150% Attack Speed for the next three attacks, stacks up to 9 attacks. When Styx uses his active skills, his passive skill increases is attack speed.

Skill 1 – Shadowless Body

skill 1 Champions Legion Styx Guide

Dash to target direction, dispel, and immune to Slow effects in 5 seconds. Your next attack will charge to target and deals {basedamage} (+120% Physical Attack) Physical Damage. Each attack reduces the cooldown of this ability by 0.5 seconds.

This skill has many uses. Firstly, after using the skill Styx dashes forward and the next basic attack will quickly move Styx close to the enemy in the attack range. Second, it will also boost the passive skill. Thirdly, it will help chase the opponents and also to run away from the opponents.

Most importantly, it passes through thin as well as thick walls, if the range is visible on the other side.

Skill 2 – Styx Prey

skill 2 Champions Legion Styx Guide

Unleashes your blade in a cone, deals {basedamage} (+135% Physical Attack) Physical Damage, and applies 30% Movement Speed Slow for 2 seconds.

The second skill of Styx is the only one that directly deals damage and slows the enemy. It is very helpful to slow down agile moving opponents. The skill is also very handy in jungling creeps.

Skill 3 – Soulburn

skill 3

Liberates your sealed blade for 6 seconds. Grants 20% Movement Speed, {physical attack} Physical Attack, and your attack will deal an additional 30% True Damage. Every enemy hero slew during this effect will extend the effects by 3 seconds, up to 15 seconds.

The ultimate skill is like a buff for Styx, boosting speed and physical attack. Always activate this skill before charging in for a fight. During the late game, continuously use the ultimate skill and keep Styx buffed.

Battle Spells

Many spells can be used with Styx. We would recommend using Punish so that Styx can jungle very fast. Also, the cooldown period of this spell is 30 secs, so helps in jungling faster. Alternatively, Daze and Flash can also be used instead of Punish.

Champions Legion Styx Gameplay Tips

Styx has incredible mobility attributes as an assassin, helping him to easily rotate through the entire map, supporting other teammates. To understand the whole scenario we can break the gameplay in three phases. Our Styx guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game in Champions Legion.

Early Game

It is important to unlock all skills of Styx as fast as possible so that the passive of Styx can be used to the best. The passive of Styx increases the attack speed of Styx significantly, making him very deadly. In the initial stage of the game, Styx must get a blue buff for fast mana regeneration.

Styx in the battlefield

Skill 1 and the good movement speed of Styx allows him to cover the entire map easily, so focus on jungling and getting silent kills. When an enemy is low on health, Styx can easily take them down with one strike.

First upgrade the first skill and then second skill. But after that follow upgrading second skill first then first skill.

Mid Game

The mid game is the best time for Styx to change the course of the game. Due to higher mobility and skills boosting movement, Styx is very good at stealing turrets, jungle monsters, divine sentry, etc. So, he is very useful in getting the objectives fulfilled and giving a boost to the team.

It is important that Styx can’t go for a head-on fight with enemies having stun abilities during this part of the game, as the health of Styx is very less without lifesteal. One strike by an opponent can bring Styx to the brink of death. It is also important that Styx doesn’t for a fight with tank and warrior heroes. Basically, in the mid-game, Styx has to clear the minion waves, jungle, silent kill the MM, Assassins, and Mages, steal turrets to end the game fast.

Late Game

In the late game, Styx has minimal role especially killing off the enemies with low HP. As Styx has very little health and weak defense attributes, he isn’t much use for charging or ganking in team fights. Styx can be the best use in singling out the enemies and taking them out quickly, one by one.

During the end, Styx attack can almost take out enemies with two strikes. The best combo of Styx is by charging the passive of Styx using first and third skill and then charging in for the attack. You can use the below combo-

Skill 3 + Skill 1+ Basic Attack + Skill 2

Final Thoughts

Playing as Styx, the objective is to support the team with good assists, stealing turrets, getting extra buffs. With low health and high physical attack stats, an assassin should always try to finish the game as early as possible. The more delayed the game, the more powerful the opponents get, and ultimately Styx is useless.

As an assassin, Styx is very good with the extra, buffed attack stats. But at the same time, he is weak against certain heroes like a tank and other heroes having stun effects. He also cannot continuously fight 2 or more enemies. Styx is good if played as a silent assassin who gets in, kills, and escapes.
