In this guide, we will take a look at the best runes, spell, build, including tips and tricks to pave your way to victory with Rakan in League of Legends Wild Rift.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other LoL Wild Rift heroes like Amumu, Master Yi, Jinx, Braum, Dr. Mundo, Akali, Yasuo, Singed, Jax, Darius, Ashe, Lulu, Miss Fortune, Blitzcrank, Teemo and Xayah. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on this guide of Rakan.

Skill analysis

Rakan is a champion with the common five skill sets of one passive and four actives. In this Rakan guide, let’s see what are his abilities in LoL Wild Rift, and when you can use which skill to be in the top form in the current rank season.

Passive – Fey Feathers

INNATE: Rakan periodically generates a 33 − 254 (based on level) (+ 90% APshield that lasts until broken. If the shield is damaged, but not destroyed after being out of combat for 5 seconds, it will regenerate 10% of its maximum value every second.

Basic attacks and abilities reduce Fey Feathers‘ cooldown by 1 second for each enemy champion hit.

LOVER’S LEAP: If either Xayah or Rakan is channelling Recall, the other may move nearby and channel their own to join them. Both reach base at the time of which the initiator’s recall ends.

The passive is pretty simple as it is described. Rakan generates shield and takes less damage when the passive is active. If any of them, i.e. Xayah or Rakan, can recall each other together.

Skill 1 – Gleaming Quill

ACTIVE: Rakan slings a magical feather in the target direction, dealing magic damage (250+ 60%) to the first enemy hit.

If the target was an enemy champion or epic monster, an area is marked around Rakan. After 3 seconds or if an ally champion comes within the marked area, Rakan heals himself and surrounding allies for 120 (based on level) (15 + 105 + 70% AP).

Despite the skill being simple, it is equally important to execute it perfectly to make the best use of it. The skill is one of the main factors which make Rakan good support. The heal is a major boost for the nearby allies, especially the ADC that is playing in the dragon lane.

Skill 2 – Grand Entrance

ACTIVE: Rakan dashes to the target location. Upon arrival, he leaps into the air, dealing magic damage (280 + 70%) and knocking up surrounding enemies for 1 second.

The skill helps in a great way to start engagement. The enemies within the range will get knocked out. The ability is one of the best CC engagement skill in the game.

Skill 3 – Battle Dance

ACTIVE: Rakan shields the target allied champion for 3 seconds and then dashes to and around them, giving them a shield to absorb damage (150 + 80%). Battle Dance can be recast within 5 seconds without a cost at no delay.

RECAST: Rakan mimics the first cast’s effects. If  Xayah is the target, Battle Dance can be cast from an increased range.

Another ability that defines Rakan as great support. The ability provides a shield for damage absorption for allied champions. Even better when it is with Xayah.

Skill 4 – The Quickness

ACTIVE: Rakan breaks into a captivating sprint for 4 seconds, gaining  50% bonus movement speed and becoming ghosted for the duration. During this time he deals magic damage (300+50%) to all enemy units he collides with, in addition to charming for 1.5s duration.

The first champion charmed grants Rakan 100% decaying movement speed. The skill is another one that allows Rakan to start the ganking process with charm attracting champions towards you and also have CC effects allowing you to get back. The skill can be combined with other skills also.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Rakan Gameplay Tips and Tricks

Rakan can be used to be played in the Dragon Lane as Support. The reason behind this, being since the champion can be a Support with Magic Damage. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift Rakan guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid and late game in the game.

Early Game

The objective of Rakan is to win the laning phase in the early game by disturbing enemy movements. The support abilities of Rakan boost the AD carry to play aggressively. The abilities of Rakan demand him to stay near AD carry so it is important to use abilities when with an ally champion. It is important to get the drag lane turret of the enemy champion as soon as possible with Rakan. In the early game, try poking enemy ADC rather than their support.

Mid Game

With the drag lane turret cleared, Rakan can now go to all team fights. With amazing mobility and disruptive knockouts, he can restrict the movement speed of enemy champions. Not to mention the healing abilities of Rakan, that gives a boost to your ally champions. Rakan can play a nuisance role in drag and baron takedowns, disrupting enemy progress.

Late Game

Taking the momentum from the mid-game, Rakan’s objective is to maximize his participation in team fights. The solo gameplay of Rakan is not recommended unless he is fed nicely. This is a very rare scenario. Just have in mind that your team is there for you. After you start the engagement because during the late games, when you engage using two active skills, then there is nothing left and enemy champions can easily take you down.

Rakan can be countered by heroes like Amumu, Jana.

Final thoughts

Rakan is a good champion and is very compatible with an expert Xayah user. But with well-coordinated team gameplay, he can become an ace on the battlefield. But, the stats aren’t OP as in general. This is a clear indication that Wild Rift is continuously maintaining the balance of the game. Over Powered champions significantly affect the game balance, making gameplay boring. Rakan and Xayah together are great and they will remain our favourite draft pick for some time now.
