League of Legends Wild Rift Xayah Guide: Best Build, Runes and Gameplay Tips

I can never resist an invitation to dance!

Xayah is a marksman, generally played in Dragon/Bot Lane in League of Legends: Wild Rift. The champion is the newest champion added to Wild Rift during the Lunar event. The champion has been launched alongside her beloved Rakan, a support champion. Xayah has some amazing poking abilities. Like most ADC, she excels in physical damage dealt. But she isn’t that durable, so excellent support is essential to utilize her full potential. In this guide, we will take a look at the best runes, spell, build, including tips and tricks to pave your way to victory with Xayah in League of Legends Wild Rift.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other LoL Wild Rift heroes like Amumu, Master Yi, Jinx, Braum, Dr. Mundo, Akali, Yasuo, Singed, Jax, Darius, Ashe, Lulu, Miss Fortune, Blitzcrank and Teemo. So, make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on this guide of Xayah.

Skill analysis

Xayah is a champion with the common five skill sets of one passive and four actives. In this Xayah guide, let’s see what are his abilities in LoL Wild Rift, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.

Passive – Clean Cuts

Innate: After casting an ability, Xayah’s next 3 basic attacks on-attack penetrate through all enemies in a line in the direction of the target, dealing the attack’s damage to the primary target and 30 / 40 / 50% (based on level) AD physical damage to secondary targets. At the end of their path, a Feather will be left on the ground for 6 seconds.

Xayah can store up to 5 empowered attacks for 8 seconds, refreshed with further ability use or upon attacking structures.

Lover’s Leap: If either Xayah or Rakan is channelling Recall, the other may move nearby and channel their own to join them. Both of them reach base at the time of which the initiator’s recall ends.

Skill 1 – Double Daggers

ACTIVE: Xayah throws two feather-blades in the target direction in quick succession, dealing physical 135 damage (125+50%) to all enemies hit and each leaving a Feather on the ground.

Targets hit after the first take damage from each dagger. The skill is as simple as it is written. But after that, Xayah can only throw 3 feathers, making it a total of 5 as is written on passive skills.

Skill 2 – Deadly Plumage

Active: Xayah creates a storm of blades for 4 seconds that grants her 40 % bonus attack speed and causes her basic attacks to strike the target an additional time for 20% damage. Additionally, If Deadly Plumage strikes an enemy champion, Xayah gains 40% movement speed for 2 seconds.

If  Rakan is nearby, he will also gain the effects of Deadly Plumage, while also gaining the bonus movement speed when Xayah strikes an enemy champion.

The skill is a boost for Xayah, especially when playing with Rakan in drag lane. As the skill has so much effect on boosting abilities, it is preferred to level up in the second.

Skill 3 – Blade Caller

Active: Xayah calls all Feathers back to her, dealing 115  physical damage to enemies they pass through, increased by 0% − 50% (based on critical strike chance). Minions take 50% damage. Bladecaller can only hit enemies once per Feather.

Enemies take 100% − 10% (based on previous feathers hit) damage from a Feather. Enemies hit by at least 3 Feathers are rooted for 1 second.

Skill 4 – Feather Storm

Active: Xayah leaps into the air, becoming untargetable and ghosted for 1.5 seconds. Afterwards, she rains down daggers in a cone in the target direction which deals physical damage to enemies hit and leave behind a line of 5 Feathers.

Xayah is unable to basic attack and cast her abilities during Feather Storm, but she can still move. The Ultimate is great in not just attacking, but gives Xayah movement speed and makes her invulnerable to attacks. She can move out of the ambush and simultaneously launch attacks on the enemy opponents.

Skill Up Methods for Xayah

Skill up the Ultimate whenever it is available. Regarding other skills, upgrade the 3rd skill, then the 1st skill, and lastly the 2nd skill.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Xayah Gameplay Tips

Xayah generally starts on Duo lane/ Drag lane, but players can also use her in Baron lane to poke enemies and restrict them on the top lane. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift Xayah guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game in the game.

Early Game

With Xayah, generally start with drag lane with support taking the lead. Xayah gameplay is to poke the enemies with her feathers and stun them with the 3rd skill. Like most AD carry, Xayah will be in the back lane but don’t try to gank until you are sure of kill or push. Tanky support is helpful for Xayah, Rakan being the best for her.

Mid Game

Xayah can play an important role in mid-game as she can enter and leave fight using her ultimate. Additionally, She can be an assassin ADC. Imagine, she is entering, stealing dragon and escaping with her ultimate and still doing heavy damage. The trick with Xayah is positioning and placing the feathers such that while Xayah is leaving the fight, she can do damage with her 3rd skill. Try to roam as much as possible, poke enemies and push them back.

Basic Combo: Ultimate + Skill 1 + Skill 3

Late Game

The late game is simple as in most AD carry gameplay. Try to take out the carry of the opponent team by positioning the feathers during the team fight. With reduced cooldown, ultimate and passive feathers can be placed in large amounts, allowing Xayah to deal more damage with her 3rd skill. one important thing is to make sure 3 daggers strike an enemy opponent to root them. It is very clear about Xayah that the 3rd skill is the trump card in dealing damage and winning fights. The more effectively the 3rd skill is used, the best result is seen.

Advanced: Skill 1 + Skill 2 + Basic+ Ultimate + Skill 3

Xayah can be countered by heroes like Ashe, Jinx, Vayne.

Final Thoughts

With beloved Rakan on her side, she is definitely an S-tier pick for the ranked games. She has some fancy abilities and does some serious damage during the late games. But, without Rakan, can she be played is something to ponder upon. She can do well without Rakan, but that might slow her up a bit. The active skills are little unorthodox in some ways and not all players will find it comfortable to execute the combos.

The champions are new, so we can expect some bullying from Xayah. But that’s said, we are going to enjoy seeing, how she can sustain in the highly action-packed gameplay of Wild Rift.
