Tower of God: New World is yet another title inspired by the popular Tower of God franchise. Staying true to the original universe with the anime storyline adapted into the game, the game features unique RPG characteristics and strategic elements for players to try out. In the game, we get to see 69 Teammates or Characters clubbed into different rarities namely R, SR, SSR, and SSR+, with R being the least and SSR+ being the most rare. Although we have Elementals (five of them) to sort the characters, this tier list will categorize them according to their roles/classes. We have categorized the characters of the game into four different tiers; SS, S, A, and B, respectively. The tier description is as followed.
- SS Tier (Overpowered): This tier comprises characters who are the absolute best in the game, and they excel beyond all others.
- S Tier (Strong): In this tier, you will find characters who are remarkably strong but not overpowered. They are highly recommended for any story event or mission due to their abilities.
- A Tier (Good): The characters in this tier are considered very capable, just one step below the S Tier. They make a significant impact during battles and are reliable assets.
- B Tier (Average): Characters in this tier are considered average, falling below the Good Tier. While competent, they have room for improvement and might not excel as much as higher-tiered characters.
- C Tier (Weak): Characters in this tier are fairly mediocre because their skills don’t have a big impact on the team or formation during the battle.

Best meta characters in Tower of God: New World for July 2023
Best Tank Character – Karaka
The cold-blooded Karaka is one of the most powerful characters, let alone Tanks in the game. I wasn’t impressed until I came across his Rain of Darkness, which deals a massive 120% of his ATK not once but thrice. Passive skill is also a strong suit of his.
Best Warrior Character – Hatz
Must be a surprising pick for those who are reading, but Hatz with Dual Swords is a solid close-combat Warrior. You can make a point with Anaak as well, but Hatz’s skill might take a slight edge while dealing physical damage. White Wave is a great special move as well, with a damage of 1020% of his ATK.
Best Assassin Character – Cheonhwa Hong
The Oathkeeper of Narumada is a Fisherman who specializes in one on one combat, and having him on your team helps you increase a great amount of Critical Hits Rate with the Knight’s Chivarly dealing a 24% increase for every 1% HP lost.
Best Ranged Character – Wangnan Ja
The Yellow elemental Wangnan is a loyal assassin who is a great SSR pick. Not only his skill animations but the skills themselves are pretty solid to watch the enemies get destroyed. Not to forget, the Mad Dog skill is lethal for a duration of 10 seconds, so better not to miss out on that.
Best Support Character – Evan
Hands down one of the most consistent characters in the game. He alongside Bam forms a formidable Support, but alone himself Evan is capable of getting the work done thanks to his skill moves like Hunger, and Destructive Urge, alongside a great Restoration skill.
Best Mage Character – Evankhell
The SSR+ character is a class apart from other Mage characters, as the burning Asura spares no one on the battlefield while excelling as a great Wave Controller. Hellfire is one heavy damage skill and comes in as a superior special move. Evankhell works well with Rachel, which will help you in sorting your team.
Final Thoughts
As per my experience, all the super rare characters are really good in the game and do not feel unbalanced of any sort. There are a lot of SSR+ characters, and they are undoubtedly the best picks available. Not only playing the strongest characters the main aspect, but position plays a huge role, and it is of utmost importance in Tower of God, the New World. For example, you need a Tank at the top to take damage not at the back. The opinions might differ, so you can choose the team of your choice without worries.
