Ever since its release, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has since become a favorite among the mobile MOBA gaming community. With millions of downloads on the Google Play Store and counting, Mobile Legends has proved itself to be one of the hottest mobile games right now. Apart from the intense-packed 5v5 gameplay, there are also many different aspects of the game that many players may be unaware of. 1. Heroes who are siblings to each other

Believe it or not – currently, there are indeed heroes in-game who are actually closely related to each other, being siblings. These heroes are:

  • Selena & Karina (Sisters);
  • Lancelot & Guinevere (Brother and Sister);
  • Zilong & Chang’e (Brother and Sister);

  • Alucard & Harith (Harith is Alucard’s adopted Brother);
  • Argus & Rafaela (Twin siblings);
  • Valir & Vale (Brothers);
  • Alpha & Saber (Brothers)

Some of these sibling relationships are evident with special voice lines in the game for these heroes. Additionally, when Harley and Lesley are both on the same team, they receive a special buff of +10 HP.

2. Heroes who are currently in romantic relationships

When it comes to lore, Mobile Legends never falls behind. In the game, there are in fact heroes who are currently in romantic relationships with each other. These heroes are:

Some of these couples also have couple skins in-game for both of them, such as:

Similarly, the romantic relationships of some of these heroes can also be seen in their voice lines. Additionally, when Carmilla and Cecilion are both in the same team, Cecilion can summon Carmilla to him if she is nearby and create a unique move.

3. Pharsa’s bird – Verri, is her Husband

Players of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang may notice that whenever Pharsa is being used in the game, a white bird seems to constantly be following her around, by her side. This bird, by the name of Verri, flies alongside Pharsa throughout her battle.

However, many players are actually unaware of the backstory behind Pharsa and her bird companion, Verri. Verri is in fact her husband, yes you read it right, that’s her husband. According to the game’s lore, Alice had crashed their wedding ceremony and blinded Pharsa. Her husband, who was at that time the love of her life, couldn’t bear to see her suffer a life of blindness alone, and therefore, transformed into a bird permanently linked to Pharsa, allowing her to see through his eyes.

4. Mobile Legends was sued by Tencent on behalf of Riot Games

Another fact not known to many players is that Moonton, developer of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was sued by Tencent on behalf of Riot Games in July 2018.

After Mobile Legends’ initial release on 14 July 2016, Riot Games had suspected that it was imitating the intellectual property of their own game League of Legends and therefore contacted Google to remove the game from the Google Play Store. However, Moonton had removed the game before Google could do so before eventually releasing it once again under the name of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang on 9 November 2016.

In July 2017, Riot Games then filed a lawsuit against Moonton of copyright infringement, this case was brought to the Central District Court of California in the United States but was dismissed.

Tencent, the parent company to Riot Games, on behalf of Riot Games, filed a new separate lawsuit directly targeting Moonton’s CEO, Watson Xu Zhenhua, who was previously a senior employee of Tencent. This lawsuit was filed in Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People’s Court, for violating a Non-Compete Agreement. The court eventually ruled in Tencent’s favor in July 2018, awarding Tencent with a settlement of $2.9 million.

5. Mobile Legends hosts A World Championship annually

The Mobile Legends hosts a range of official tournaments annually. From the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asian Competition (MSC) to local leagues such as the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL).

However, Mobile Legends actually hosts their own World Championship annually, known as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship, with the first, dubbed as M1, held in Malaysia in November 2019. 6. Mobile Legends was A Medal Event for Esports at The 2019 Southeast Asian Games

Held from 5 to 8 December 2019 in Metro Manila, Philippines, the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, commonly known as SEA Games, featured an Esports category consisting of various games including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Arena of Valor, Dota 2, Starcraft II, Hearthstone, Tekken 7.

The 2019 SEA Games were the first-ever of its kind where Esports was featured as a medal event in an International Olympic Committee-sanctioned multi-sport event. A total of nine teams, each representing their own nation, participated in the Mobile Legends event. After fierce competition in a best-of-5 format, Team Sibol representing the Philippines eventually reigned victorious over Team Indonesia in the Gold medal game, winning 3-2. Similarly, in the 2021 SEA Games, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will once again be a medal event.

7. Spin-off Game – Mobile Legends: Adventure

Following the success of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, the developers – Moonton, released yet another game as the successor to Mobile Legends. Set in the same universe as Mobile Legends, players will enter a fantasy world known as the Land of Dawn, where they will be able to utilize their unique strategies to take on different battles and challenge players from all around the globe.

8. Indonesia currently holds the record for the most players

Excluding China, where Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is currently unavailable, the game is currently the most popular mobile MOBA game in Asia, particularly from Southeast Asia.

With close to 80 million players each month in the year 2021, it is no doubt that Mobile Legends has proved itself to be a hit among the mobile gaming community. However, according to Esportsku, the game is exceptionally popular in Indonesia, which currently holds the record for most players of the game. Additionally, Indonesian players of the game, are safe to say, the best at it as well, with the in-game Top Global Leaders being dominated by many Indonesian players.

9. Mobile Legends has its very own animated series

On 6 August 2021, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang took to their official social media pages, announcing their first-ever official animated series, named Legends of Dawn: The Sacred Stone. The series “will bring our beloved heroes to life as they venture through the Imperial Capital in search of the Sacred Stone“ and “throw fans of the franchise on a light-hearted and comedic journey filled with refreshing visuals.”

Releasing later this year in Fall 2021, the animated series will be premiering on China-based world-leading internet and technology company Tencent’s video streaming website, WeTV. Premieres will also take place on Malaysian free-to-air television network TV9, Indonesian free-to-air television channel NET. The animated series will also be aired on the Philippines commercial broadcast network and syndication, program distributor, and production company, ABS-CBN.

10. Mobile Legends has its very own band

Last but not least, to top it all off on our list, did you know that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang actually has its very own band? Known as S.T.U.N, it was recently released as part of Moonton’s global virtual campaign, 515 E-party, for the game. The release was also accompanied by a music video featuring Selena, Brody, and Chou, titled “Together”. Released on 8 May 2021, the music video gathered a whopping 15 million views just within a week of its release.
