Mobile Legends Cecilion Guide: Best Build, Emblem and Gameplay Tips

Only love and night are everlasting

Cecilion is one of the mages that is always underestimated in Mobile Legends, but actually a beast when it comes to late game. He deals massive damage after getting stacks with his low cooldown skills, able to kill squishy enemies in two or three shots only. In this guide, we will take a look at the best emblem, spell, build, including tips and tricks to pave your way to victory with Cecilion in Mobile Legends.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other Mobile Legends heroes like Ling, WanwanPharsaCarmillaHayabusaAtlasLuo YiYu Zhong, Aurora, Khaleed, Freya, Khufra, X.Borg, Lesley, Tigreal, Valir. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Cecilion.

Skill Analysis

Cecilion is one of the heroes that has five skills which are one passive, three actives, and one special skill when Carmilla is in the same team. In this Cecilion guide, let’s see what are his abilities in Mobile Legends, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.

Passive – Overflowing

Passive

Cecilion will increase his Max Mana by 8, each time his skill hits an enemy target. This effect has a cooldown of 1 second. Additionally, Cecilion has higher Max Mana and Base Mana Regen, and his skill damage scales with his Max Mana.

The passive that can stack until 99,999 stacks are the main reason Cecilion is overpowered late game. Collecting more stacks increases his skill damage, and buying items that give mana increases his skill damage too. Collect stacks by hitting enemy heroes or minions with his skills.

Skill 1 – Bat Impact

Skill 1

Cooldown 1.5s
Mana Cost 75

This is his main damage dealer. Max this skill first after ultimate. Enemies hit in the middle of where the bat lands receive the most damage. This skill has a fixed distance, which means you need to position yourself accordingly to deal maximum damage to enemies. However, enemies along the path will receive damage too, but less.

The skill cooldown is low but as you use it more often, it will consume more mana. It’s advisable to use this skill at max three times before waiting for it to cool down or else you will easily run out of mana. Take note that the Cecilion movement speed is increased for a short while after casting this skill. So you can cast this skill when getting chased. Within 6 seconds, every time Cecilion casts this skill, the mana cost will be increased by 80% (capped at 4 times). He can get a max of 2 stacks from hitting enemies with this skill.

Skill 2 – Sanguine Claws

Skill 2

Cooldown 12.0 – 8.0s
Mana Cost 95 – 120

Cecilion’s only CC skill. Same with skill 1, this skill has a fixed casting distance so it’s important to position yourself before casting. Enemies can see the claws cast so if they have dash ability, they might be able to dodge this skill so it’s best to cast it at your prediction of where the opponent is heading. Cecilion will get 1 stack if enemies got caught in the claws.

Skill 3 – Bats Feast

Skill 3

Cooldown 44.0 – 38.0s
Mana Cost 150 – 250

Cecilion’s ultimate deals damage to enemy and at the same time healing him. The bolts hit random enemies in range so it’s best to use this skill when there’s not a lot of enemies around him. Despite the high damage and heal you get when using this skill, care your distance too because you can use your first and second skill too during his ultimate duration.

His ultimate will not stop even when Cecilion gets stunned. So use his ultimate before entering team fights in case you got stunned and don’t have the opportunity to use this skill. On an additional note, the Cecilion movement speed will increase for a short duration when casting his ultimate. It can be used as an escape mechanism too since your enemies will get slowed after getting damaged from the bolt.

You can also use his ultimate when taking buffs early game because using basic attack and first skill takes a lot of time to kill the monster. This skill can collect stacks up to 7 if all the shots hit enemies.

Skill 4 – Moonlit Waltz

Skill 4

Cooldown 45s

When Carmilla is nearby, Cecilion can transform her into a Vermil Shadow possessed by him, providing 440 – 1000 (+40 per level) Shield (scales with Carmilla’s level).

Carmilla can then select a target location and jump out, gaining the same shield, dealing 440 – 1000 (+40 per level) Shield to enemies within the area of effect, and slowing them down by 60% for 1 second. Cecilion will be unable to interact with an allied Carmilla if she bought Broken Heart in the Shop.

Best Emblem Set and Spells for Cecilion

Emblem Set

Because Cecilion is best in dealing with the damage and at the same time needing mana, Mage Emblem with Impure Rage talent is the best to use with him. It gives Cecilion a percentage of mana every time he kills a minion. This skill has a cooldown of seconds.

Spells

Cecilion is squishy and lacks mobility in the game. Therefore, Flicker is good as an escape mechanism for him, especially when want to escape through walls. Use his first skill and ultimate when escaping through a clear road, and use Flicker through walls.

Other than that, Cecilion is quite squishy so he’s as good as dead when he gets crowd controlled. Having Purify as a spell enables him to use his ultimate in some situations and save him from getting killed (since his ultimate heals too).

Best Builds for Cecilion in Mobile Legends

Core items

Demon Boots: It’s important to have these boots because Cecilion needs mana throughout the game. There’s no other good choice of boots for Cecilion other than this.

Clock of Destiny: This item increases max mana greatly and helps to deal more damage using Cecilion’s skills. It’s a must-have item that is well paired with Lightning Truncheon. Get this item after boots.

Alternatively, you can build Enchanted Talisman instead of Clock of Destiny to get online quickly. Mana Spring gives a lot of mana and cooldown to let you use his first skill more often, letting you collect enough stack to bring Cecilion to full power.

Lightning Truncheon: Since this item deals with damage that scales with mana, this is the best choice that suits Cecilion’s passive. Other than that, it is the only item that offers a skill cooldown that’s suitable for Cecilion’s skill kit.

Divine Glaive: Magic penetration item that makes Cecilion deals almost half HP to anyone. It’s a good item to scare tanks in the frontline and reducing squishy heroes HP.

Ice Queen Wand: Gives magic lifesteal, movement speed, and most importantly slow enemies. Amplify healing and slow of his ultimate, and a good way to keep the distance from enemies.

Winter Truncheon: A go-to item against smart assassins, prolong his presence in team fights, and might save his life too. Immortality is the second option if the game drags to a very late game.

Holy Crystal or Blood Wings: The last item to boost Cecilion’s damage. Depends on your playstyle. Go for Holy Crystal if you’re a damage type of person or Blood Wings if you prefer to be a bit defensive.

Mobile Legends Cecilion Gameplay Tips

When it comes to gameplay, we can break it down in three phases for Cecilion. Our Cecilion guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid and late game in Mobile Legends.

Early game

Cecilion isn’t really strong in the early game, but not weak either. Harass enemies with his first skill and collect stacks as much as you can. However, take note to not cast his first skill more than three times before waiting for the cooldown to not run out of mana fast. Advisable to take the blue buff to cast skills more often.

Mid game

Cecilion can start involving in team fights from the start but it’s safer to be more cautious until mid-game. After you get two core items after boots, he will be dealing with lots of damage. Be at the back of the fight and make sure nobody comes for you at the back. Cecilion is squishy so keep an eye for enemies that deal burst damage and CC.

Late game

Late game is the part where Cecilion shines the most. With all his items, he will be the number one target in team fights due to his scary damage. One shot of Bat Impact can deal more than half HP of enemies without magic defense. It’s crucial to be alive so Immortality is a recommended item in the late game.

Generally, Cecilion counters low mobility and squishy heroes. As long as you can keep a distance from the enemies, you can kill them. On the other hand, heroes that can charge to Cecilion and deal with high damage can kill Cecilion easily. He’s also weak against high mobility heroes and when he got CC-ed.

Final thoughts

Used to be overpowered and permanently banned in ranked games, Cecilion was nerfed badly but still performs if he doesn’t die a lot early game. Keep priorities right with your teammates on the blue buff, never be greedy, and keep collecting stacks. The best bet is to stay behind teammates to avoid getting killed first in team fights to consistently gives large output damage during team fights. So start practicing with Cecilion in Mobile Legends keeping the tips from this guide in mind!
