The all-new Among Us map, The Airship is all set to release on March 31, 2021. Innersloth has recently announced the free update on Twitter on a blog post that the map will be released soon on iOS and Android.
The Airship map which was teased long back in December at the Game Awards 2020 and said would be released in early 2021 will finally make a way in the game on March 31. The new map is based on the Toppat Clan Airship from the Henry Stickmin series, a game created by Innersloth. The new update will also add a preliminary account system to help with moderation.
Airship map comes with a lot of new features
Airship shall join the rest of the three maps – Skeld, Polus, and Mira HQ but the Airship will be a major leap compared to the other existing maps. There will be new tasks that shall feature ladders and elevators for players to move from one place to another. Another interesting addition is that players can start off in different rooms after an emergency meeting. In the present maps, all players continue from the emergency meeting room. They have also teased about giving out free new hats for being so patient!
Innersloth has explained in a blog for being late about releasing the new update. As said by them “creating a map and updates isn’t as simple as creating one aspect of the game and throwing it onto the PC. Because our game is cross-platform, it means EVERYTHING needs to work on as many devices as possible”. Additionally, while the game is already available for PC, mobiles, and Switch, it shall also be arriving on Xbox consoles in 2021.
