Brawl Stars announced the latest season of Brawl Pass “Once upon a Brawl” in the latest episode of Brawl Talk for August 2021. In Season 8, Brawl Stars have brought a new chromatic brawler, following the previous season as well with this, a clean rework to the Showdown mode, new skins, and more animated pins. The eighth season of Brawl Talk also saw Ryan making a special appearance. In this article, we will look at all the announcements for the upcoming season.
Brawl Stars Season 8 – Once upon a Brawl
The new season is titled “Once Upon a Brawl.” The update introduces the players to a new environment. The update has been themed around a fairy tale and is castle-esque. Owing to the theme, we have a new brawler that is a mixture of a knight and trash. Players will also have access to some new fairy-themed skins.
New Chromatic Brawler – Ash
Ash is the new chromatic brawler. The knight is a cleaner at Starr Park. He has one of the highest HP in-game and is tied with Rosa as the fourth-highest base health at the moment. Ash has a small range similar to Bull but his attacks deal the same damage at all ranges and do damage to all the brawlers that come in contact with its projectile.
Ash also introduces a new mechanic called Rage which is kind of like Surge’s increase in level. Ash has a bar below his ammo bar which fills up when he takes or deals damage. As his rage bar fills up his damage increases and at max level rage he gains extra movement speed. He throws 5 homing robotic rats that deal damage on impact with the enemy.
Ash will be a part of the Brawl Pass and like the previous seasons will be unlocked at Tier 30.
Reworked Solo Showdown
To reduce teaming in Solo Showdown Brawl stars will be introducing a reworked game mode called Showdown Plus that gives players with kills extra trophies.
Old Solo Showdown will also be available in rotation for players that want to play the plain old version.
Based on the feedback and performance of this temporary game mode supercell will be making changes to showdown to prevent teaming.
New skins and more animated pins
Nine new skins will be introduced with the update. While 7 are based on the fairy theme two are inspired by the Lunar Festival.
The upcoming skins are:
- Princess Shelly (Brawl Pass exclusive – Tier 1)
- Ninja Ash (Brawl Pass exclusive – Tier 70)
- Prince Sprout (Separate Color options to be available in the shop)
- El Dragon (Separate Color options to be available in the shop)
- Unicorn Knight Barley
- Evil Queen Pam
- Wizard Byron (Power League exclusive – Unlocks after 30 wins)
- Lunar Piper
- Handsome Colt
Note: Instead of the 50 wins in Power League this season to unlock the Power league skin players will be required to win only 30 games. The skin will be available for purchase for 25000-star points.
We are also getting new true silver and true gold skins for Sandy, Gale, Bea, and Nani. Animated Pins for more brawlers will be released with the update. From the Brawl Talk, Buzz and Squeak are confirmed to get the animated pins.
Improvement for the clubs
The size of clubs is going to be decreased from 100 to 30 in 30 days’ time and will be announced on Brawl Stars social media handles.
This is being done for the new features that Supercell intends to introduce in the near future. The features will be aimed at a better club experience and more integrated features.
Other Additions
New Animations for Skins is another feature to see. includes Frank, DJ Frank, and Piper Calavera, who are going to get new visual effects with the update. Additionally, it is also confirmed that all the players will get a free Mega Box with the update.
