Supercell announced the World Finals schedule, location and format!

Clash of Clans World Championship (COCWC) Roadmap had been completely revealed for the year 2022, the official esports program of Supercell‘s Clash of Clans. After the success in recent years, Supercell brings back the World Championship again this year with a massive prize pool of $1 million. However, the format of this championship is entirely changed this year. In this article, we would look at the new format and break it down for everyone.

Clash of Clans World Championship 2022: Format

In 2022, Supercell completely changed the Championship Format to strengthen its ties to the community. Thus, they included a few chosen community-organized competitions in the Championship, which was introduced in a prior article.

Each of the 8 World finalist teams this year must achieve a Golden Ticket to secure their place in the competition. Earlier this year, the Supercell team announced that the teams could earn the Golden Tickets in two ways.

Teams will earn the first 4 Golden Tickets through the community-organized competitions, which will be held from January until early August with a prize pool of $50,000 each.  The second way to earn a Golden Ticket is through the in-game Championship Qualifiers.

The Championship Qualifiers will be open to all players with Town Hall 14. The top four teams from this qualifier will earn one Golden Ticket each and proceed to the World Championship Finals in Helsinki, Finland.

Community Tournaments

Supercell collaborated with four community tournaments, providing 1 Golden Ticket with each to the winners of these tournaments. Each of these tournaments will have a prize pool of $50,000 and its own format. Supercell will give the 4 Golden Tickets through the following community tournaments:

The top two teams of each group will advance to the Playoffs.

In the Playoffs, the top 8 teams from the group stage will be battling in a double-elimination bracket, and the winner will win the Golden Ticket and a piece of the $50,000 prize pool

Championship Qualifiers: More than four teams would qualify

Another way of earning the Golden Ticket is the Supercell Official Championship Qualifiers. Clans will fight in 5-week clash mayhem from August 10th- September 10th, 2022 in the online tournament hosted by Supercell.

During these dates, every Town Hall 14 player will be able to access the Tournament Hub by tapping the in-game Clash of Clans World Championship button. However, players must be at least 16 years old to participate in the Championship Qualifiers.

The top 4 teams from this event will compete against the four teams qualified from the community tournaments in the Clash of Clans World Championship 2022 finals for their share of the $1,000 000 prize pool.

Prize pool

The eight teams qualified from the community tournaments and Championship Qualifiers will compete for the title of World Champions and a piece of the $1,000,000 prize pool from the 23rd of September to September 25th, 2022.
