Command & Conquer: Legions Dev Interview video showcases IP modernization, hero systems, and more

Some interesting details!

While we wait for Command & Conquer: Legions on our smartphones, a new Dev Interview video showcased ideas behind the modernization of the IP, hero, and mecha systems, and more. So let us look at an overview of what was shared in the latest Command & Conquer: Legions Dev Interview video.

Crafted by Yorha Studios, Command & Conquer: Legions is an upcoming strategy title that is published by Level Infinite. This new game presents a fresh perspective on the classic Command & Conquer real-time strategy franchise. The title was first announced as Project C&C, before renaming it to the current title. A closed beta test went live in Thailand and Germany followed by the second beta in June.

Command & Conquer: Legions will come with both new and original heroes from the IP

The CEO of Yorha Studios discussed how they incorporated modern and artistic elements into the game to ensure a smoother experience for new players. At the same time, they emphasized that the game retains its original content, including the original narrative, to immerse players more deeply in the IP. According to the CEO, this has been their goal from the outset when modernizing the IP.

Regarding the hero system, it will include both heroes created by the developers and those from the original IP. The original heroes will retain their distinctive traits from the source material, while the newly designed characters will be crafted with a modern style in line with current market trends.

As for the mechs, they are based on the original IP. The team’s plan is to rework the mech system and integrate it into the actual in-game mechanics, which was not the case in the previous version, providing players with a more immersive experience.

The team is actively gathering feedback from players, including veterans of the IP, and the CEO has confirmed that they are thoroughly reviewing all of the input. Additionally, there are plans to introduce single-player gameplay in the future, which will incorporate elements of strategy and even incorporate roguelike concepts.

Currently, Command & Conquer: Legions is still in development and is scheduled to be released on the Google Play store for Android devices and the App Store for iPhone and iPad in 2024.
