Cookie Run: Kingdom July 2022 Update Brings Magic Candies, Cookie Ascensions, and more

Here is everything you need to know!

The latest Cookie Run: Kingdom July 2022 update is out now, and players will find many new features in the game. This update introduces Magic Candies, a final Odyssey Chapter, a brand new Epic Cookie: Financier Cookie, and more. Here is a list of all the noteworthy additions in this update.

Introducing the new Epic Financier Cookie

Financier Cookie is the newest Epic cookie. While she might seem cold at first, the Republic knows her as someone who’s kindhearted to her fellow cookies. She’s in the Defense class. Due to her being the Republic Consul’s personal bodyguard in the story, her skill consists of protecting Clotted Cream Cookie and providing numerous buffs to him and dealing damage to those who attack Clotted Cream while her skill is active.

If you don’t have Clotted Cream on your team, she’ll use her skill for the cookie with the highest ATK stat. She seems like she’ll be a great fit for the arena, considering how Clotted Cream is currently one of the most popular picks for the competitive game mode.

The new Chapter in Cookie Odyssey

The third Odyssey chapter is out now! Like the previous chapters, players need quills to progress in the story, and Odyssey Chapter 3 requires players to use Odyssey III quills specifically.

A brand new Master Mode in World Exploration

This update introduces the brand new Master Mode, which is a game mode in world exploration that’s even harder than Story Mode and Dark Mode. It can be unlocked once you’ve completed World 10 in Story Mode, and right now the latest Master Mode chapter in the game is World 4.

More levels in Master Mode will be released over time. Much like Odyssey and Tower of Sweet Chaos, the stages in Master Mode have specific requirements that you have to follow, for example prohibiting a certain class of cookie for a stage. Master Mode provides the materials you need for Cookie Ascension, such as soul cores and soul essence.

Increase your cookie’s stats with Cookie Ascensions

Previously, the game had cookies receiving a maximum Promotion cap of 5 stars. The new update introduces Cookie Ascension, which lets you ascend any of your 5-star cookies. After Ascension, your cookie can have 4 more Ascensions until they’re fully maxed. Like normal Promotions, Ascensions will increase the cookie’s base stats such as ATK, DEF, and HP.

The materials required for Ascension can be found through the Cookie Gacha (receiving Soulstones of a 5-star cookie just converts it into Soulcores instead, which are necessary for Ascension), Arena Medal Shop, Rainbow Shell Gallery, and Master Mode in World Exploration. The current Ascension rate is 20 Soulcores for Ascension 1, 30 Soulcores for Ascension 2, 40 Soulcores for Ascension 3, 50 Soulcores for Ascension 4, and finally 60 Soulcores for Ascension 5.

Boost your cookie’s power with Magic Candies

Magic Candies are a new way to make your favorite cookies more powerful. Currently, there are only 3 Magic Candies Available in the game. The 3 cookies that can equip a Magic Candy are Purple Yam Cookie, Espresso Cookie, and Vampire Cookie.

  • Purple Yam Cookie’s Magic Candy: Red Velvet has a 4.7% increased HP stat, and now has a shorter cooldown on his skill. His previous skill had a duration of 20 seconds but has now been shortened to 15.
  • Espresso Cookie’s Magic Candy: Like Red Velvet, his base stats have been increased as well. His ATK is now higher by 13.04%, DEF by 4.76%, and HP by 9.3%. Additionally, he has a 20% chance of stunning enemies while he’s transformed, and becomes resistant to interrupting effects during his skill. However, his skill duration is now 10 seconds instead of 8.
  • Vampire Cookie’s Magic Candy: Like Red Velvet, his base stats have been increased as well.

Additionally, these three cookies have received buffs, and have a different type of skill compared to when they were first released. Magic Candies can be crafted for a cookie as long as they’re at least Level 50. To create a Magic Candy, you’ll first need materials such as Soul Essence, Sugar Crystals, Coins, and a specific ingredient depending on which cookie you’re crafting a Magic Candy for. Once you’ve finished making the candy, you can level it up even further. The Magic Candies are capped at Level 30.

Upgrading Magic Candies work similarly to Toppings, where you can have the outcome of a Success or a Fail. A third option is also available, which is called a Super Success; this outcome gives you back the materials you used, as well as guarantees that the next level you upgrade will also be a success.

Create objects for game progression in the Magic Laboratory

Magic Laboratory is a new building in the game where you can create various objects required for game progression. Examples of objects you can create here include Topping Pieces, Time Jumpers, Cookie Ingredients (necessary for making Magic Candies), and Bounty Powder. This building is unlocked after you reach Kingdom level 35 and complete the special quest for the building.

Due to popular demand, Landmarks now don’t need to be placed in your kingdom for you to still receive their buffs. The Sky Garden is a place where you can keep your current landmarks while keeping your kingdom nice and tidy. This feature is unlocked after Cookie Castle Level 5.

Other changes in the Cookie Run Kingdom July 2022 Update

Today’s Bounties now have extra two stages per cookie class, making the final stage Level 12 instead of Level 10. Level 6 and up also provide Sugar Crystals as rewards too as of this update. The Republic’s Azure Streets now includes 3 new decors, as well as specific Cookie Decors for Financier Cookie and Oyster Cookie. Wildberry Cookie is now available in the Mileage Shop. The maximum Stamina Jellies you can have at a time is now increased. Devil Cookie, Mango Cookie, and Squid Ink Cookie have received buffs to their base stats.
