Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, set in the popular Dragon Quest franchise will launch on Mobile and PC platforms. The action RPG will be arriving across Android, iOS, and Steam on the 11th of September, 2024.
Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince brings over 500 monsters to encounter
In this seventh game in the Dragon Quest Monsters series, you step into the shoes of Psaro, a young man cursed by his father to prevent him from harming monster creatures. If you have played the other games in the franchise, you’ll remember him being the antagonist from the Dragon Quest IV game.
To lift this curse, Psaro must become a Monster Wrangler, leading a team of friendly monsters in epic battles. You’ll recruit and train a variety of monsters, combining them to create even stronger allies. As you explore the mysterious world of Nadiria, you’ll build a unique party and embark on a thrilling adventure to become the “Master of Monsterkind”.
As part of the gameplay, you’ll explore a dynamic world with changing seasons and weather that affect monster appearances and reveal paths to undiscovered areas. Another exciting aspect is the variety of monsters you can encounter. The game allows you to defeat and recruit over 500 unique monsters, and combine them to create powerful beings.
The Dragon Quest mobile has been kind of a hit or a miss. Most of the games have been shut down over the last couple of years, including games like Dragon Quest Tact, Dragon Quest: Champions, Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light, Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai, and Dragon Quest Keshi Keshi. With the Dragon Quest Monsters series, there is no doubt that Square Enix wants to make the hit franchise work massively in their favor.
