Flash Wolves reigns supreme as the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series: Preseason Taiwan champions

Flash Wolves takes the crown in Taiwan!

After Vietnam and Malaysia, the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series: Preseason has kicked off once again and Taiwan’s champions were concluded today along with Thailand. Flash Wolves is a known organization based in Taiwan especially on League of Legends PC. They had established a name in the PC version and now they continue to build their legacy on the mobile version of the game. “Pocket picks over Meta picks”. Flash Wolves have made their statement after winning the Wild Rift SEA Icon Series: Preseason Taiwan today as the reigning champions.

Despite playing champions not considered as strong at the moment such as Bruce’s Twisted Fate and Corki and Demon’s Vayne, FW still dominated their competition ONE Team. FW won over ONE Team on a 4-2 score winning $2,500 and $1,250 respectively. Moreover, ahq Esports Club, the team that Flash Wolves defeated before moving to the finals finished in 3rd place and took home $750. While MESports took home $500 and ended up in 4th place.

Wild Rift SEA Icon Series: Preseason Taiwan Finals: As it happened

Unlike the other previous regions, Taiwan’s finals were a BO7 (Best-of-7) match. It took 6 games before FW was able to take out ONE Team. Also, their most picked champions were Corki, Braum, Lee Sin, Gragas, and Jarvan IV which is very different compared to the other regions. This could say how the region loves champions that can contribute some form of CC or Crowd Control like knock-ups and stuns.

So far, FW‘s championship run is the most dominant on the whole tournament, only losing 2 times on the Finals against ONE Team the whole tournament. This clearly shows how strong this team is and how other regions should watch out and prepare for them.

FW’s key to victory besides their consistency is no other than Bruce. He had an amazing stat line and only died 4 times on the Finals despite having an average Kill Participation or KP of a whopping 87.65% on their 4 wins. Not only that, but he also had consistent high Damage Percentage and Gold Difference at the 10-minute mark or GD@10, showing his superiority over ONE Team’s mid laner. Not to forget, Bruce also played Katarina and played exceptionally good at it as well, the man’s definitely a legend!

The games were streamed on Facebook, Youtube, and Twitch for those who want to watch the replay of the games.
