Genshin Impact Developers Discussion for December 2020

A sneak peak into the future!

The developers of Genshin Impact at miHoYo have given us another developers discussion which many users have become accustomed to knowing what can they expect in the future. In the Genshin Impact Developers Discussion, they usually give us insight into what we can expect from the upcoming updates and how the devs feel about the suggestions from the players. Let’s look at all the features discussed in the Genshin Impact Developers Discussion for December 2020 and all the benefits these may have for players in the future.

Developers Feedback for Genshin Impact

1. Private Chat to talk with friends

The devs have said that in version 1.2 players will get this functionality. Players will be able to open the friend list and click on their friends to chat or use a new shortcut feature in order to chat directly from there. Even if the player is offline, once they login they will receive the message. This feature alone will really help to make the game feel like a more contiguous world.

2. Changing Player Names frequently is sometimes very confusing for others

In order to remedy this confusion in version 1.2 players, will be able to give nicknames to players. This name will only show up to you. But it will be visible in your friend’s list and in the new private message feature. This feature really seems like it will make it easier for you to remember users on your friends list.

3. Visible Waypoints in the Waypoint System

Though the visible waypoints won’t be present in the 1.2 version, the devs have announced Custom Pins which when selected from the map will be visible. Players will only be able to navigate to one pin at a time though.

4. Manually collecting drops is sometimes very incovenient

Due to this in version 1.2 the drops will be instantly added to your inventory. They also noted, “improved the Domain and Ley Line rewards system”. Whether this just means that they only improved how we get drops is still to be seen. Players would really like it if they added better rewards to compel players to complete these events.

5. Too many Long Cutscenes

While it’s fine if you’re into that sort of thing, some of the cutscenes are annoying when you’re forced to press a button after every dialogue instead of the NPCs talking by themselves. It starts to become a chore sometimes, hence the implementation of an Auto-Play for the dialog. Players can expect this feature to come in version 1.2.

6. Revisiting the story lore

Normally players would resort to Twitch or YouTube for that. However, in addition to Dialogue changes, the devs are also getting a compendium called the Travel log, to be added to the Archive.

7. Player disconnections halts Co-op progress

This can be seen from the past two Co-Op events so players have been begging for something to be done. Luckily, players don’t have to wait much longer, in version 1.2 players can leave Co-Op freely without interrupting other players. Also, the host can now disband the session just by returning to the single-player mode.

Moreover, in version 1.2 they will be awarding players with 1 Acquaint Fate each time they ascend a character, level 20,50, or 70. Also, any character previously upgraded to these milestones will retroactively grant their user these rewards. In order to find these rewards come Version 1.2, the players can check the Ascension Materials Screen.

Conclusion

These updates are always great for the game. Moreover, the last nugget of info showing players a new way of getting summons is really nice. Finally, it looks like the Devs are starting to give players something in order to get new characters.
