Genshin Impact x Discovery Channel collaboration reveals a short documentary and a series of online and offline events

Join Kit Harington, Ed Stafford, Kate Humble, Max Djenohan, and Lily Cole as they join forces with popular Genshin Impact characters

Genshin Impact and the Discovery Channel introduce the “Teyvat Nature Discovery Tour” event, aimed at fostering awareness for numerous delicate natural environments and evoking admiration for the splendor of nature. Notable personalities and beloved characters from the game will highlight the magnificence of Earth’s landscapes and those within the realm of Teyvat. Enthusiasts and players are encouraged to engage in a sequence of online activities and offline fundraising endeavors to enjoy themselves, earn incentives, and contribute to the conservation of our extraordinary natural realm.

Genshin Impact and Discovery Channel’s documentary unveils natural wonders

The eight-minute documentary titled “Voices of Nature” adopts a playful approach towards diverse natural landscapes, as it concurrently educates viewers about their significance in the natural order and their relevance to human life. Subsequently, the documentary transitions to scenes in the editing room where the filmmaker engages in conversation with the subjects.

Conveying the magnificence and intrinsic value of nature, the film concludes with factual information regarding pollution and ecological damage. This includes statistics such as:

  • Annually, humans deposit up to 12 million metric tons of plastic into the oceans, equating to approximately 26 billion pounds per year. By 2050, it’s projected that oceanic plastic will surpass the combined weight of all marine life.
  • Analysis of satellite data spanning from 2002 to 2019 indicates an average loss of 3.6 million hectares (9 million acres) of global tropical forests per year, a landmass exceeding the area of Belgium.

Celebrity narration meets environmental advocacy in the Voices of Nature Documentary

The short film showcases a remarkable ensemble of renowned actors, explorers, and environmental advocates, each lending a human perspective to distinct landscapes. The Ocean is voiced by Kit Harington, known for his role as Jon Snow in the acclaimed series “Game of Thrones,” garnering multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations in 2020. Lily Cole, environmental activist and author of “Who Cares Wins,” embodies the Coral Reef, serving as Patron of the Environmental Justice Foundation.
