Mobile game shutdowns are becoming a common incident these days with more and more games closing down because of various reasons. The latest one to join the ship is none other than Just Cause Mobile, the mobile title based on the highly popular Just Cause PC, Console title. First announced during The Game Awards in December 2020, Just Case Mobile was expected to release in 2021, however, it seems like the development process did not go as expected and brought in a shutdown notice for the game.
Fans are not surprised by the Just Cause Mobile shutdown
With constant delays happening since 2021, it was kind of inevitable. Originally, Just Cause Mobile was slated to launch in 2021, but then in July 2021, Square Enix announced a further delay until 2022 due to the Pandemic.

Just Cause Mobile also entered early access in December 2021 in Singapore first and later added more regions in South East Asia in April 2022. Then in December 2022, another announcement came mentioning the launch delay once again. Now finally, the team has mentioned officially the closure of Just Cause Mobile. In an official statement, Just Cause Mobile’s Community Manager Anne Lou mentions
“Today, we have important news about JUST CAUSE MOBILE. It is with great sadness that we are announcing the end of development for JUST CAUSE MOBILE. As of tomorrow, 3 July 2023, the game will no longer appear on digital stores. It is never easy to put forth an announcement of this nature, especially to our fans who have been awaiting the release. We sincerely appreciate the support you have given us.”

The survival in the mobile games industry is becoming tougher every day and this is no surprise. Taking the official statement into consideration, the development did not go well for the company. They also mentioned that whoever made a transaction, (purchased Blue Diamonds) during the Regional Early Access will be refunded on their Google Play Account.
