PES Club Manager is going to shut down from December 2021

The game might be implemented as a DLC in eFootball 2022

As per an official announcement by the Konami officials, their popular mobile sports game title PES Club Manager will be shut down across all devices and countries after 5:00 GMT on December 25, 2021.

PES Club Manager gets discontinued

To coincide with the decision to discontinue the game, all coin purchases would be disabled from November 13 onwards. All events and updates will continue until the moment of discontinuation, with the 79th Manager’s Cup being the final competitive event to run in-game.

The game which has been running since 2015 has been a leisurely favorite of countless football fans across the world with a unique approach to the football games in the sports genre, by letting the players play from the perspective of a manager. There have been no further announcements to hint at or tease a new game that could replace the title.

The decision of discontinuing the game has been met with mass discontent among the player base expressing their annoyance at how a game which they spent their time and resources on can simply get discontinued without any proper disclosure or necessity. Another portion of the player base has expressed their sadness at how a game that gave them memorable moments and a reason to love sports is being discontinued for reasons unknown.

Possible reasons behind the shut down

PES, which has now been rebranded to eFootball, has been much less than impressive in their latest installation in the franchise eFootball 2022. The game which was meant to be a turning point with its free-to-play and cross-platform features has been a disaster. Riddled with bugs and glitches, it drew massive backlash from players, with the postponement of eFootball Mobile being the salt in the wound. Konami might be trying to do the same with PES Club Manager by changing it up and by possibly implementing it as a DLC in eFootball. If that is the case, then we might as well say goodbye as chances are slim that we will get a standalone version of such a game.

Thus it remains to be seen what Konami does, and with little room for error given the already dissatisfied audience, they probably should be working to make something that will ease the tension.
