Introduction of new Pokémon
The party starts on the 21st July, Thursday, with the introduction of another ‘Eeveelution’, Glaceon. As previously reported and now confirmed by Pokémon Unite, the Fresh Snow Pokémon makes its debut on the roster on the 21st of July. No Aeos coins to buy a Glaceon? ‘Fret not, because the Icy Glaceon Challenge would be running from the 21st of July, 2022 on Thursday at 12 a.m. PDT to the 14th of August, 2022 on Sunday at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Other Pokémon which will be making their Pokémon UNITE debut during the anniversary festivities include Buzzwole on the 3rd of August, 2022 on Wednesday and Tyranitar on Monday, 15th of August, 2022, as previously reported. Boss Rush: New Game mode
There have been quite a lot of game modes in the game for the past year. This surely shows the developers do not lack creativity in bringing intensity to the Pokémon MOBA battles. Similarly, to commemorate the 1-Year birth anniversary, a new Game Mode is to be introduced to the game.
The new Quick battle, ‘Boss Rush‘ game mode would require players to team up to battle against tough bosses like Zapdos, Drednaw, Regigiggas, etc. Unite squads may also compete for rankings in Boss Rush mode. Boss Rush will be available at three different periods during the anniversary celebration:
- July 21, 2022 at 12:00 a.m. PDT to July 24, 2022, at 4:59 p.m. PDT
- July 31, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. PDT to August 7, 2022, at 4:59 p.m. PDT
- August 14, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. PDT to August 21, 2022, at 4:59 p.m. PDT
Players must play the Boss Rush during these periods to win rewards.
Pokémon Unite: Battle Pass Season 9 and Ranked Match Season 5
Furthermore, one must take a dive into an electrifying new battle pass season with Battle Pass Season 9 and Band Style: Pikachu Holowear, which would debut on the 21st of July, 2022, at 12:00 a.m. PDT. They would win a Band Style: Pikachu and also, a Songstress Style: Wigglytuff Holowear as the battle pass exclusive rewards.
As always, the new battle pass season brings many more new rewards, so get ready to rise through the battle pass levels. The Ranked Match Season 5 kicks in with a Tuxedo-style Decidueye and numerous other rewards such as Unite Snapshot portrait frames, stickers, and portrait backgrounds.

Players must get into the festive spirit with free Unite licenses and fashionable Holowear simply for logging in. Log into Pokémon UNITE for five days between July 21, 2022, at 12:00 a.m. PDT and October 12, 2022, at 4:59 p.m. PDT to receive the following Unite licenses and Holowear:
- Day 1: Pikachu and Fashionable Style: Pikachu
- Day 2: Lucario and Concert Style: Lucario
- Day 3: Blastoise and Firefighter Style: Blastoise
- Day 4: Snorlax and Bedtime Style: Snorlax
- Day 5: Sylveon and Checkered Style: Sylveon
If players already own any of the Unite licenses or Holowear above, they will receive 100 Aeos coins instead for each Unite license and Holowear they already own.
Anniversary Cake Event and many more
Since Birthday Parties are incomplete without cakes, trainers will be able to collect frosting for the Anniversary Cake Challenge, running from the 21st of July, 2022 at 12:00 a.m. PDT to the 1st of September, 2022 at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Complete missions, collect frostings and top the cake for your favorite game to win handsome rewards, which include Pokémon Holowears.
The Celebrations won’t stop here though, as the game has confirmed the introduction of Pokémon Boost Emblems as an Energy Rewards exchange. Last but not least, several events are also to be introduced to enhance team games and boost up team spirits. The Returning Trainer Support Event, Invite A Friend Campaign, and Team Up and Rank-up events would no doubt increase the synergy between players and their Unite friends and team.
