- Subway Surfers City opens pre-registration ahead of its worldwide launch on February 26.
- Districts allow you to test new environments, while Characters and Boards have unique abilities.
- Subway Surfers City previously soft-launched in select regions back in 2024.
Good news for fans who have been waiting: Subway Surfers City has officially opened pre-registration, and the global launch is scheduled for February 26, 2026, on both Android and iOS. This endless runner is not an update to the original game, but a fresh take on the franchise, built around a bigger world called Subway City.
This move comes nearly two years after the game’s soft launch in July 2024, when it was released in select regions on both Android and iOS, including countries like Canada, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
Subway Surfers City expands its endless running core with districts and Secret Stars
The core gameplay will still feel the same way. You are running, dodging obstacles, collecting coins, and escaping from the Guard and his dog. But what really changes is the environment. Instead of a single endless track, Subway Surfers City lets you explore different districts across the city.

You can unlock these new areas by collecting XP. The gameplay also adds more depth, with mechanics like stomping, jumping higher, dropping lower, and exploring hidden paths to find Secret Stars, which aren’t easy to spot and reward your curiosity.
Characters and boards play a much bigger role this time. Each surfer and board comes with unique abilities, and you can upgrade or combine them to suit your playstyle. Missions, trials, and limited-time challenges are also present, so it is a celebration indeed.
Another welcome addition is offline support. You can play Subway Surfers City without an internet connection, though some features will be limited. Still, it’s great to see that the game doesn’t force you to stay online all the time.
If you are looking to pre-register for the game, you can access Subway Surfers City on your Android and iOS devices, via the Google Play Store and App Store. This is to make sure you don’t miss out on the game when it launches on February 26, 2026.
