Vive Le Football (VLF), which is a brand-new football game for mobile devices from popular developers NetEase, is set to release by the end of the year as announced by the development team.
Vive Le Football release: Perfect time to capitalize on the market
VLF entered into an open beta back in August this year to positive reviews, but there had been no word yet on whether the full game would actually hit stores. However, reports recently, particularly from Chinese sources, have strongly hinted that the game would launch by the end of the year.
This timeframe does make sense, given Konami is still reeling from the disastrous effects of the eFootball 22 console release, postponing the mobile release to spring of 2022, while a major update for FIFA Mobile has reportedly been delayed. NetEase would be foolish to not capitalize and woo players away from the usual suspects of the footballing genre.
A promising start
Although not quite at the popularity of the PES or FIFA mobile, the beta for Vive Le Football was released to positive reviews. While reviewers noted some glaring mistakes such as Messi’s and Bruno Fernandes’ celebrations getting mixed up, the overall experience was said to be fresh and positive.
VLF boasts beautiful high-quality graphics with realistic animations. In addition to the usual online modes, VLF features a career mode, story mode, and street football mode. One particular campaign for the story mode follows Barcelona in 2014/2015 UCL season.
The game also features some interesting off-the-pitch scenes as well with highly detailed animations for post-match celebrations, interviews, and so forth, something seldom seen in FIFA and PES games even on non-mobile devices. To know more about the VLF beta, read our review on the game.
