Waffle is a new and harder take on the popular word puzzle game Wordle

A more complex word based puzzle!

If Wordle isn’t really as fun as it was a while ago, here’s a new game that’s worth a try called Waffle. The creator of this game, James Robinson, has taken Wordle to the next level by making it a little harder and also, unique in terms of the core mechanics in this new game.

There have been quite a few unofficial spinoffs of Wordle like Squirdle, Nerdle, Lewdle, and others. However, this one actually requires you to guess a total of 6 words that share common letters and are aligned in a grid-like pattern that roughly resembles a waffle, which is where the game’s name comes from.

Players have to guess all the 6 words to win a game in Waffle

Players don’t have to enter the first few words themselves like they would in Wordle. But instead, they get all the letters and have to actually move around the individual tiles for each letter so that they can get all the words. It sounds and looks a little complicated for sure and the fact that players only have 15 tries to swap around the tiles doesn’t make the game any easier.

The basic hints are the same as Wordle. When you position a letter in the right place in the right word, the letter turns green. Place it in the wrong place but in the right word and it’ll turn yellow. And if the letter doesn’t belong to that word or the one connected to it then it stays white. The game can be a little confusing at the start but players should be able to understand its basics after a game or two.

Just like Wordle, Waffle’s puzzle refreshes daily and you can share your progress with your friends and online too while your streak is saved on the browser.  Anyone interested in playing Waffle can simply play the game on any browser across all devices.
