Franz Anton Beckenbauer has finally made his long-awaited return to EA Sports FC 25 and FC Mobile this month. Beckenbauer or Der Kaiser makes a comeback with the ongoing Pitch Beats event after a long hiatus, having last made an appearance in FIFA Mobile 17.
EA is keeping the tradition of bringing back old and new Icons to FC Mobile 25 alive with the new Icon Making Challenge format. Players can play through matches in the Icon Making Challenge mode to earn their 104 OVR Icon item.

FC Mobile Pitch Beats Icon Making Challenge: Overview
If you have been playing FC Mobile for the past few months, you should be familiar with the Icon Making Challenge right now. You will be playing through a series of five PvE-based AI matches using your Ultimate Lineup or Main Team without any lineup restrictions.
Do note that should you fail to win in any of the matches in one go, you will be given a single retry to win that match and continue your journey in the Challenge. Further failing will require you to spend Gems to continue on the Challenge mode. This time, the Icon Making Challenge offers the following rewards:
- 3000 Gems
- 92 OVR CB Franz Beckenbauer
- 104 OVR pre-ranked CB Franz Beckenbauer
Do note that the Beckenbauer card in FC Mobile is actually of 100 OVR and has been pre-ranked (red) to 104 OVR. Previously, EA had also introduced Icon Making Challenges to introduce Bobby Charlton as a part of the CODE: NEON event, and brought back Diego Maradona with the Team of the Year (TOTY) event.
How to get Beckenbauer in FC Mobile from the Icon Making Challenge
Since the Challenge puts you against AI matches and not PvP-based VSA or H2H matches, it becomes relatively easy to play through them. Although the AI difficulty will gradually increase as you proceed in the Challenge mode, with the final few matches requiring you to win from being one or two goals down.
Albeit this, given your squad’s OVR, you can expect to autoplay your way through the first few matches. And should it create a hassle, here are our tried and tested tips to win the Icon Making Challenge mode and claim Der Kaiser for free:
- The Right Wing is the most important position in all formations and chapters. You need a proper, fast right winger who can also dribble well.
- The best way to win quickly is to play a couple of passes around the right baseline and dribble the last defender so RW can finesse. It’s either a goal, corner, or rebound for the striker.
- Again, not every goal is going to come from your right wing. You have other tools in your box; don’t be afraid to use them.
Remember, you are playing against the AI, not another human, so the gameplay becomes predictable gradually. So don’t be afraid to close the app altogether if you give up a goal at some point! Yes, your progress is saved to the last completed match! Ultimately, it comes down to commitment to tactics and staying focused rather than being good at this game.
