Materials and items Dropped by the Experimental Field Generator

The Experimental serves as a Normal Boss encounter, accessible for a cost of 40 Original Resin. Upon a successful defeat, players will gain access to a Trounce Blossom which holds a selection of valuable items, including:

  • Tourbillon Device
  • Prithiva Topaz Silver
  • Prithiva Topaz Fragment
  • Prithiva Topaz Chunk
  • Prithiva Topaz Gemstone
  • Instructor
  • The Exile
  • Traveling Doctor
  • Gladiator’s Finale
  • Wanderer’s Troupe

The quality and quantity of the drops depend on the World Level and luck. Players can also get some basic drops such as Mora and Character EXP Materials from the boss.

Attack Patterns and abilities

The Experimental Field Generator is a challenging boss that can be challenging. Here are some of its attacks and patterns:

  • Laser sweep: Turns on two devices that spin and shoot laser beams without stopping. These lasers cause 50% of your attack power as physical damage to anything they touch.
  • Carpet bombing: Soars into the sky and heads for the player, releasing many bombs on the way. Each bomb inflicts 50% of the attack’s power as area-of-effect physical damage. After the bombing run, it crashes to the ground, dealing 60% of the attack’s power as area-of-effect physical damage. The ground smash move can also be used independently.
  • Missile Barrage: Targets the player and shoots a stream of homing missiles, each causing 50% of the attack power as physical damage upon impact.
  • Gravity reduction Field: Jumps to the arena’s center and creates a Gravity Reduction Field that affects the whole area. In this field, characters can jump much higher. While the field is active, the Experimental Field Generator will employ stronger Geo attacks that can be evaded by jumping. If the Experimental Field Generator is hit by a total of 3 Pneuma-aligned attacks in this condition, the Gravity Reduction Field will disappear.
  • Gravity Ripple: The Experimental Field Generator performs this move as both its initial and final attacks when the Gravity Reduction Field is in effect. It periodically emits a shockwave that spreads outward, which can be leaped over. This shockwave inflicts 100% of the attack’s power as Geo damage upon impact. If used a second time during a single Gravity Reduction Field, it releases three successive shockwaves at the conclusion. Importantly, this attack cannot be avoided by using sprint invulnerability frames.
  • Enhanced attack 2: In rapid succession, triggers numerous explosions in its vicinity, each causing 80% of the attack’s power as area-of-effect Geo damage. Additionally, it generates multiple rocks in the air that are subsequently launched at the player, with each rock dealing 80% of the attack’s power as Geo damage upon impact.
  • Enhanced attack 3: Designates specific spots on the ground from which rocks erupt after a brief delay, inflicting 80% of the attack’s power as Geo damage when they hit.
  • Enhanced attack 4: Builds energy and then unleashes a powerful explosion, causing 100% of the attack’s power as area-of-effect Geo damage.

Genshin Impact Experimental Field Generator Boss: All Achievements

There are two achievements that you can unlock by fighting the Millennial Pearl Sea Horse boss. They are:

  • The distance of the moon: Complete 11 Plunging Attacks in a single Gravity Reduction Field, hitting an Experimental Field Generator.
  • Gravity front: Defeat an Experimental Field Generator without being hit by a Gravity Ripple.

When confronting the Experimental Field Generator without Fontaine Characters, feel free to employ your preferred team composition or the one you’re most accustomed to using. It’s a wise strategy to have at least one team member capable of healing or shielding, or even both, to endure its formidable attacks, particularly the shockwaves.

It is worth noting that the Experimental Field Generator doesn’t possess any elemental damage resistance, making it vulnerable to all elemental types. Additionally, it’s not as agile as some other bosses, offering you a variety of approaches to engage and overcome this challenge.
