Clash of Clans June 2024 Update: Builder’s Apprentice, Hard Mode, and more

New update coming!

Just like how the Clash of Clans General Manager discussed the June 2024 update in his recent AMA session, the sneak peeks for the same have arrived, and with this, we are slowly inching toward new changes in the game before the arrival of a brand new Town Hall 17. Again, there’s a lot to cover, including a new Builder’s Apprentice, Hard Mode, and more such features, which I will share in this space as the info arrives.

Clash of Clans June 2024 Update: All new features explained

New Feature: Builder’s Apprentice

A new character is here, and this is for the Home Village builder to aid him! The Builder’s Apprentice is a new character available at Town Hall level 10 and above, costing 500 Gems to recruit permanently. He waits for your orders at the Town Hall and can speed up Builder Upgrades for 1 hour every 23 hours. After helping, a 23-hour cooldown starts for him.

Upgrading the Apprentice makes him more efficient during that hour, progressing upgrades further. The Builder Potion doesn’t affect him, and he can only be used in the Home Village, not in the Forge or Builder Base. Currently, he goes up to Level 8, and this might be improved once we get more Town Halls in the future. For every level you upgrade, his Working Speed multiplies by 1.

He can only work on one building every 24 hours. Levels 1 and 2 require 500 Gems each, followed by 750 Gems for Levels 3 and 4. The rest of the levels need 1000 gems each to get him upgraded. So in total, it costs 6,500 Gems to max him out, so if you are out of gems, guess you know what to do.

New Troop: Druid

We have got a new troop coming, with the Druid. Unlocked at Town Hall 14 with a level 11 Dark Barracks, he is a versatile healer who transforms into a powerful Bear. Unlocking it costs 14 million Elixir and takes 13 days. Upgrading the Druid increases its healing power and hit points, with level caps at Town Halls 14, 15, and 16.

He is a single-target ranged troop and targets defenses, both Ground and Air. Unlike Healers, Druids heal both ground and air troops for 30 seconds, with healing bouncing between up to five units within three tiles. They offer higher initial healing than Healers, making them more effective for heroes but at the cost of two extra housing spaces.

Druids have faster movement speed, maintaining proximity to troops, but their healing diminishes with each additional Druid, preventing effective stacking with Healers. After healing, Druids transform into bears with significant hit points and damage but can’t jump over walls. He can heal up to five troops at a time. As the update arrives you can get to know more about the gameplay.

New Feature: Hard Mode

This mode was already discussed as coming in this update in the AMA, and yes, it will be entering into CoC this June. Simply put, you already have the Friendly Challenges and Friendly Wars, and its more competitive version is the Hard Mode.

Now you ask me, what’s the difference? Well, here your opponent’s defenses deal 5% more damage, while attacking Heroes have 10% less HP and 15% less DPS, making the base more competitive and war-ready. You can initiate Hard Mode by checking a box when creating Friendly Challenges and Friendly Wars. This feature is under development still so expect more updates on this.

Attacking Preparation Changes

Well, this has come as a surprise to me. From the June 2024 update, you can now select the defender’s buildings before deploying your first troop, spell, or Hero in Clash of Clans. When you select a building, it highlights all other buildings of the same type in the village. For example, selecting one Archer Tower will highlight all Archer Towers, and selecting a Hero Altar will highlight all Hero Altars.

What this does is you, as an attacker, will be getting a lot of overviews to plan your attack in that limited time space. Meanwhile, defensive buildings will display their range and configuration. For example, Inferno Towers will show whether they are set to multi or single-target mode, Mortars will display their minimum and maximum range, Builder Huts will reveal their healing range, and Spell Towers will indicate their spell range.

Additionally, selected buildings will show their current level. Resource Storage and Resource Production buildings will display the amount of loot they contain. If there are no resources to loot, they will show their level instead. The Clan Castle will indicate how many defending troops it can hold, and Town Halls level 12 and higher will show the level of the Town Hall weapon.

Other Updates

  • Cost and Time Reductions: The update reduces resource upgrade costs and times for various upgrades across many Town Hall levels, including defenses, troops, spells, heroes, and pets.
  • Gameplay Enhancements: Several gameplay improvements have been made, which include displaying “Full!” at the Blacksmith for full Equipment Ore storage, Clan Castle starting in Sleep mode, better equipment targeting to reduce misfires, and an obstructed defensive layout reminder in Builder Base.
  • Bug Fixes and Adjustments: Changes include Yetis now spawning multiple yetimites based on damage taken, reordering Supercell ID profiles, fixing errors related to reward types, and displaying spell durations even if they have no upgrades.

The update will be arriving on the 18th of June 2024. Well, that’s all for now for this Clash of Clans 2024 June Update. Read other related articles-
