Clash Royale June 2022 balance changes update patch notes

Mother Witch and Night Witch get buffed!

The Supercell development team behind Clash Royale has brought in balance changes regularly and keeping up with their usual schedule, they’ve now brought balance changes for June 2022. It includes several changes to cards in the form of buffs and nerfs to make the gameplay more balanced and fair to players of all levels without overusing any cards.

Clash Royale June 2022 balance changes update

1. Mother Witch (buff)

Mother Witch has received an increase in its hit-speed by 9% and a 25% increase for a faster first hit. In the last update, the Mother Witch received significant health nerf, and to counter that the current balance changes increase her DPS as compensation.

2. Night Witch (buff)

To make the Night Witch more favorable in her role as a support unit, her DPS is increased to make her more inclined to the meta with a 13% increase in hit speed. This will also probably counter her nerf since the removal of her death bat spawn.

3. Barbarian (buff)

This DPS buff will affect every unit involving at least one barbarian. This includes Battle Ram, Barbarian Barrel, Barbarian Hut, and regular Barbarians. Barbarian received a 7% faster hit speed to make the card more mainstream in higher arenas and to bring back its popularity as a card.

4. Electro Giant (buff)

Ever since the last nerf, and decrease in elixir value, the Electro Giant is rendered weaker in terms of health in comparison to the rest of the Giant family. Thus to keep him relevant, there has been an increase of 9% in health buff which is a halfway increase to his old HP.

5. Barbarian Barrel (nerf)

The Barbarian Barrel has seen a disproportionate increase in use over other cards and the developers want to make it more balanced. Thus, its effective range is decreased from 5 tiles to 4.5 tiles and will only allow one hit to the tower if left unanswered.

6. Skeleton King (nerf)

The Skeleton King has become a menace to deal with when he uses his ability and the opponent is out of spells, often deciding the game single-handedly. Therefore, the nerf is set to make him more balanced, and for that his ability is reduced to 18 from 20 during Soul Summoning, and also has a competitive card rather than overpowered.

7. Royal Ghost (nerf)

The Royal Ghost has seen a spike in use owing to his unique invisibility ability. Thus, the invisibility cooldown is set to 1.8s from 1.6s to make him more reasonable to counter. He will be made to be visible for a bit longer and make him more balanced.

8. Goblin Drill (nerf)

25% slower travel speed has been brought in to counter a recent bug triggered by the Mighty Miner which made the Goblin Drill travel faster than usual. The balance change will make it go back to normal and prevent players from exploiting the bug.

9. The Log (nerf)

The most used card in the game, The Log has seen increased usage as a damaging spell rather than tactical due to its knockback effect. However, this will change as the damage will be decreased by 33% to make the card stick to its original purpose as a tactical spell.

Final Thoughts

Like in the past, the Supercell team has proved themselves to be worthy of the attention they get. They are one of the most, if not the most responsive to player feedback. The recent changes continue to be their effort to keep the game enjoyable while also keeping it competitive which is more than any player could ask for.
