A brand new season of Clash Royale excitement is here, and as expected we are going to get some interesting additions. Not following a particular theme this time, but we have a new Tower Troop arriving with Dagger Dutchess so they’ve opted to go with her at the helm. With more to discuss, in this article, let me provide you with a glimpse of what Clash Royale Season 58 April 2024 Update has in store regarding new skins, emotes, rewards, and other additions.
Clash Royale Season 58 April 2024 Update Overview
New Tower Troop: Dagger Dutchess
Dagger Duchess is the latest Tower Troop in Clash Royale, bringing a unique attack style by starting strong, throwing a rapid flurry of daggers for high damage until her supply is depleted. After that initial burst, her attack slows down significantly as she reloads her knives.
Despite having higher hit points and damage initially compared to other tower troops like Princess and Cannoneer, Dagger Duchess struggles against heavy pushes and large swarms over time due to her slower attack rate. However, she excels at handling smaller pushes effectively, so depending on your taste, you can pick your Tower Troop.
New Card Evolution: Battle Ram
Shifting the trend of two evolutions from Season 56 and Season 57, we will have one evolution coming this season. Battle Ram joins the fray, the card had good use before its evolution so I see this Evo card being popular. Now, when it evolves, it gains significant boosts with increased hit points (HP) by 25%, a faster attack speed with each hit, and a new ability called Super Charge.
With Super Charge, the evolved Battle Ram becomes tougher to stop with melee attacks, swarms, and buildings. It gains strong pushback against attackers, deals area damage, and can repeatedly charge and bounce against buildings and towers until its HP runs out. To trigger this evolution, the Battle Ram needs to complete two cycles.
New Tower Skins
Talking cosmetics, in this update, one new Tower Skin has been officially confirmed that can be acquired through the Pass Royale. The House of Daggers tower skin is unlocked at Tier 48 of the Gold Tier in Pass Royale. I’ve been quite surprised by the lack of tower skins recently. We might get a Tower Skin in a special event so we shall wait for the same.
Emotes and Banners
Once again, following the pattern of previous updates, six new emotes will be coming. All the new emotes will be based on the new Tower Troop theme and evolution. We will only have 2 Banners for Diamond Pass Royale owners, 8 in the Banner Box, 2 free from Community Challenges, and not any in the Season Shop.
Season Shop, Card Boosts, and Offers
The Season Shop has a decent amount of rewards on offer, which can be obtained by exchanging season tokens. Along with the cards on offer, I see banners and emotes being worthwhile investments, as we have cards in Barbarian Barrel, Battle Ram, Princess, and Prince available in the Season Shop for 500 tokens apiece. No Wild Cards this time.
Card Evolution enthusiasts can find Ice Spirit Shards in the Season Shop. We have four cards picked for boost this time with Barbarian Barrel, Battle Ram, Princess, and Prince.
For the first time, the Tower Troop will be having a separate section with The Cannoneer making the cut-in as in-app purchases. I see this as a great opportunity once we get more Tower Troops coming in.

No Balance Update has been out yet, so keep an eye on this space.
