Destiny: Rising, the upcoming mobile adaptation of Bungie’s iconic action sci-fi video games franchise, has officially been announced by NetEase Games. To give us players the first experience, the closed alpha test of Destiny: Rising is set to kick off on November 1st, 2024 for those who are in the USA and Canada regions.
Destiny: Rising development was in question following layoffs at Bungie
I think most of you know about the Destiny series of games. Back in mid-2021, following the listing of jobs for the franchise, most of the small-screen players had their hopes up after rumors circulated that Bungie was collaborating with NetEase to develop a mobile game set in the Destiny universe. Accordingly, NetEase Games partnered with Bungie to create a first-person shooter specifically for mobile platforms.
However, there were concerns regarding this development, as the creators behind the Halo and Destiny series of games were hit with layoffs. But that was brushed off following new reports that surfaced last month, which is holding now. Now, as the good news arrived, the mobile version of the game promises to bring the rich lore that was built into the franchise.
In Destiny: Rising, you can enjoy many beloved features from previous titles, including both PvP and PvE modes. There are open-world Destination maps to explore as you take on co-op missions like Haven Ops and Gauntlet Ops. Each character boasts unique abilities, signature weapons, and customizable gear as well. There are plenty of features you can find, which stay true to the Destiny experience.
