The much-awaited Free Fire OB40 update is just around the corner as the developers recently confirm the May 31st, 2023 release date. The upcoming update will bring a tonne of new features to the game including new game modes, new pets, guns, and much more.
Introducing Sonia, the new Character in Free Fire OB40 update:
In skill-based games, characters play an important role in changing gameplay dynamics. An all-new passive ability-based character by the name Sonia will be added to the existing list of characters in the game.
Her special survival ability Nano Lifeshield will provide shield protection to players for a few seconds after taking fatal damage. While the shield is active, players will be able to knock down enemies with the restoration of HP. In case, they fail to eliminate opponents it’s game over for them.
Alongside a new character, the fan-favorite character Alok will be upgraded with ‘awakened skills’. This character will receive a boost in speed and healing power with the new power variant.
Meet Pug, the new Pet in Free Fire OB40 update
In Free Fire there are many pets that characters can have, to help them enhance their gameplay and presence in the game. This new pet is called Pug and has a cool appearance of a boss dog.
Basically, it doesn’t come with any special skills but can be equipped with the skills of other pets. Players will be able to unlock the Pug through top-up events or later purchase it from the in-game store. Apart from character inclusion, many new features like character rework, UI changes, and bug fixes will make their way with the all-new update.
As of now, characters like Dimitri, Oliva, and a few others will be changed to better suit and adjust to the gaming dynamics. There will be an altercation in the pre-match lobby and resource availability in the game. The OB40 update will release after the advance serves close by May 29, 2023.
New gel wall mechanic in Battle Royale matches
As of the next Free Fire update, players will meet the Creator of Ice. The novelty will be responsible for producing walls of ice. Generally speaking, all players will start with this ice maker at level 1 right in their inventory, and gel walls will be created every few seconds during the match.
