In its latest update, Game For Peace has added a brand new holiday-themed map ‘Resort Island’ in the game for the classic battle royale game mode. For those who are not aware, Game For Peace is the Chinese iteration of the popular mobile battle royale game PUBG Mobile. It runs as a different entity in an isolated server and has its own game ecosystem different from the global version. Game For Peace has been noted to be the first receiver of all upcoming updates in PUBG Mobile due to the game’s developers, Tencent being Chinese as well, which means that the new map, titled Resort Island is expected to arrive in the global version as well.
Resort Island map in Game for Peace: Overview
According to the translation of the latest post by Game for Peace made on Weibo, Resort Island is a 1×1 battle royale map with a tropical setting. It can hold up to 28 solo players, or 7 squads and involves fast-paced, close-range tactical skirmishes owing to its small size and terrain.
One complete game in the map can last up to 10 minutes, thus making it a great map to play in to kill quick time without engaging in the long-drawn games of the regular classic maps such as Erangel and Miramar. It features a beautiful seaside tropical island with various features such as ziplines, bridges, and waterfalls in the terrain.
The map also has its own exclusive weapons and vehicles such as the ATV, a quad motorcycle that specializes in off-road driving. What’s more is that the map also has a recall feature, using which a dead teammate can be brought back to fight in the game by their living squadmates. This enables the targeted fast-paced gameplay as players can play aggressively without the thought of getting killed holding them back.
We have seen that any major update which arrives in Game For Peace gets implemented in the global version of the game and the Indian version, that is, Battlegrounds Mobile India aka BGMI sooner or later. Some examples are the additions of the Karakin map, MG3 gun, the Coupe RB vehicle, and Erangel 2.0. Thus, it is not a stretch to say that this new map will be seen in PUBG Mobile and BGMI in the near future.
