Rust Mobile eyes China launch this July 2026 across PC and Mobile

Couple of months away!

Story Highlights
  • Rust Mobile set for July 2026 launch in China, global release later.
  • Cross-platform play confirmed across PC, Android, iOS, HarmonyOS.
  • Pre-registration live with milestone rewards and hidden grand prize.

Rust Mobile is finally moving toward release, with July 2026 locked in for its China launch. The action survival title is also aiming big on the tech side, with cross-platform support confirmed across PC, Android, iOS, HarmonyOS, and tablets in the region.

Rust Mobile development has been ongoing since 2024, with multiple alpha and beta tests

The title first showed up back in early 2024 under the Codename Outpost name in China, before being confirmed as an official mobile version of Rust in November of the same year. Since then, there have been multiple tests, including an alpha phase in Canada and region-based betas in China, along with a few delays to improve stability.

The gameplay sticks close to what Rust is known for. You start with nothing on a harsh island, gather resources, craft gear, build bases, and deal with other players who may or may not be friendly. Raiding, survival management, and PvP are all expected to be part of the mobile version as well.

Cross-platform support is also mentioned, so that’ll be interesting. A shared experience between mobile and PC players, for a game like Rust, is a big step. That said, performance will be the key challenge. Bringing a heavy sandbox survival game to mobile without cutting too much is not easy.

For now, the focus is clearly on getting the China launch out in July 2026; the date is yet to be confirmed. Once that goes live, we should get a better idea of how soon the rest of the world can jump in. For now, we can pre-register for the game via the official website.
