Squad Busters is all set to kick off its New Year with a massive update. This February 2025, the game is giving us a blockbuster party with its major update, as the fun action title from Supercell brings us PVE Mode, Chest Changes, New Skins, and more to cherish for its fans. Squad Busters February 2025 update overview
Hatchling Run: A new PvE Co-op mode
Hatchling Run is the first-ever PvE co-op mode in Squad Busters, letting you team up with two other players to rescue hatchlings before monsters attack the Coop. Youāll need to find the hatchlings, bring them back to the center, and defend against waves of enemies. The faster you defeat them, the more time youāll have to gather hatchlings.
If the Coop is destroyed, you will still keep your rescued hatchlings. At the end of each match, the number of hatchlings saved determines how many Gems you earn, and you can trade hatchlings for exclusive Veggie Skins for Bea, Colt, and Trader. Hatchling Run will be a limited-time event available on update day.
New Skins: Forest and Easter Themes
Two new skin sets are coming soon. The Forest Set introduces nature-themed skins for Archer Queen, Archer, Goblin, and Witch, while the Easter Set will bring festive looks for Mavis, Ruffs, Chicken, Dynamike, and Poco. More details on how to obtain these skins will be shared later.
Star Chest and Reward System upgrades
Opening Star Chests now offers an extra choice when tapping, giving you more control over which units to evolve first. Additionally, these chests will only grant Supers, Ultras, or Ultimates from characters you already own. New characters will be available through events and regular chests.
Regular chests now allow you to spend Coins for extra taps if you finish below first place. Another small but important change is that placing third in Showdown will now count as a win, making progression a bit easier.
Balance Changes and Bug Fixes
Several balance adjustments and bug fixes have been made in this update:
- Barbarian Kingās Super Rage has been slightly nerfed.
- Mega Potions in Showdown now spawn less predictably.
- New Showdown maps have been added for Beach, Ice, Lava, and Spooky Worlds.
- Replays no longer crash the game.
- Matchmaking and game performance have been improved for a smoother experience.
April 2025 update and future Roadmap
This update may not be as large as the previous ones, but thatās because the team is working on a huge April update that will bring major gameplay changes. Expect more strategy, better Squad control, and improved battle readability. A new Character Rarity and a meta revamp are also coming.
After April, another update is planned for the Summer of 2025, with changes influenced by player feedback. The roadmap includes new game modes, characters, worlds, rewards, events, and possible collaborations.
