Brawl Stars: List of different Modes in the game

Know all about the maps in Brawl Stars!

Brawl Stars is a fast-paced multiplayer MOBA and battle royale developed and published by Supercell. In this game, you can team up with friends or play solo in various PvP arena game modes, each lasting under three minutes, set in different locations within the Brawliverse. In this guide, we will list all the modes including events in Brawl Stars!

Understanding the layout and features of each mode in Brawl Stars can give you a strategic advantage. Every mode has unique layouts, obstacles, and terrain features that can affect the way you play. For example, some may have walls or barriers that can block your movement or line of sight, while others may have environmental blockage, like water where only a few Bralwers can move.

List of Game Modes in Brawl Stars

1. Gem Grab

Gem Grab is a 3v3 game mode where you need to collect and hold onto 10 gems to win the match. You can grab gems that spawn from the center of the map or steal them from enemies by eliminating them. The team with the most gems when time runs out wins in this mode. There are also cases where both teams have 10 gems each, and here the team that collects more when the timer runs out wins.

During special events, Gem Grab is also available in a large-scale 5v5 format. In this version, there are two gem mines instead of one, and the first team to collect and hold 20 Gems wins, making it more fun and challenging.

The maps available for Gem Grab include Hard Rock Mine, Crystal Arcade, Deathcap Trap, Gem Fort, Undermine, Double Swoosh, Minecart Madness, Rustic Arcade, Open Space, Last Stop, Forest Clearing, and The Cooler Hard Rock Mine.

2. Showdown 

Showdown allows you to play two formats, Solo and Duo Showdown mode where your objective is to be the last one standing. In this mode, you can boost your Health and Attack damage by collecting the Power Cubes scattered across the map. As the game goes on, poison clouds close in from all directions, increasing the challenge.

The maps available for Showdown include Double Trouble, Skull Creek, Rockwall Brawl, Feast or Famine, Acid Lakes, Cavern Churn, Island Invasion, Dark Passage, Flying Fantasies, Safety Center, Dried Up River, Marksmans Paradise, and Final Four.

3. Heist

Heist is a 3v3 game mode where your objective is to protect your team’s safe while attempting to damage the enemy’s safe to break open. The team that destroys the opponent’s safe first or deals more damage to it until the timer runs out wins. The maps available for Heist include Kaboom Canyon, Safe Zone, Hot Potato, Safe(r) Zone, The Great Lake, and Gg 2.0.

4. Bounty

Bounty is a 3v3 game mode where you earn stars for eliminating enemy Brawlers, which increases the Bounty on your head to a maximum of 7 stars. Make sure to survive, and avoid giving those stars to your enemies. In this mode, the first team to reach 20 stars or the team with the most stars when the timer ends wins.

If there is a tie like Gem Grab, you can only win if your team has the Blue Star. The maps available for Bounty include Snake Prairie, Shooting Star, Hideout, Canal Grande, Layer Cake, and No Excuses.

5. Brawl Ball

In the 3v3 Brawl Ball mode, your objective is to get the ball, take it to your opponent’s goalpost, and score. If you can score two goals first, your team will win the match. If the game goes into Overtime, all the obstacles on the map will be cleared, and the team to score first will win.

Brawl Ball is also available in a large-scale 5v5 version during certain events, similar to Gem Grab. In this mode, the pitch rotates 90 degrees, the goalpost is wider, and you play in landscape mode, but the objective remains the same.

The maps available for Brawl Ball include Backyard Bowl, Triple Dribble, Pinhole Punt, Sneaky Fields, Super Beach, Pinball Dreams, Center Stage, Beach Ball, Sunny Soccer, Penalty Kick, Second Try, and Trickey.

6. Hot Zone

Hot Zone is a 3v3 game mode where you need to capture and hold zones to win. In this mode, the first team to fully capture the zones wins the match. Some maps have only one zone, while others feature two. Moreover, both you and your enemy team can occupy the Hot Zones simultaneously, so you should prevent them from gaining control.

If neither team fully captures the zone, the team with the highest completion rate wins the match. The maps available in Hot Zone include Open Business, Parallel Plays, Ring of Fire, Dueling Beetles, Watersport, and Noisy Neighbours.

8. Knockout

Knockout is a 3v3 game mode where you must defeat the opponent’s team in 3 Knockout rounds. The first team to win 2 rounds wins the game. There is no revival in this game mode, once defeated, you will have to stay out for the rest of each round. Similar to Showdown, as the game goes on, poison clouds close in from all directions, increasing the challenge.

The maps available in Knockout include Goldarm Gulch, Belles Rock, Flaring Pheonix, Out in the Open, New Horizons, Four Levels, H For…, Two Rivers, Deep Forest, Tiny Islands, Temple of Vroom, and Overgrown Ruins.

9. Duels

Duels is a 1v1 battle, in which you battle against your opponent with a trio of chosen Brawlers. You can keep your Brawler for the next round if you win, while the loser’s Brawler gets eliminated. You win the match if your enemy runs out of Brawlers. The maps available in Duels include No Surrender, Shrouding Serpent, Warriors Way, Monkey Mzae, Petticoat Duel, and Zen Garden.

10. Wipeout

Wipeout is a 3v3 game mode where you collect points by defeating the opponent’s team. The first team to reach 10 points wins the game.

Wipeout is also available in a large-scale 5v5 version, where you have to reach 20 points by defeating enemies to win. The maps available in Wipeout include Infinite Doom, Slayers Paradise, Quad Damage, Layer Bake, The Great Open, Spice Production, Slippery Road, Icy Ice Park, Frosty Tracks, and Riverbank Crossing.

11. Basket Brawl

Basket Brawl is a 3v3 basketball-like game mode, where you have to throw the ball in the opponent’s side basket to score points. The team scoring 5 points first wins the game. 2 points are awarded from up close and 3 points from behind the line.

The maps available in Basket Brawl include Ball Hog, Turnover, Alley Oop, Reversal, Dancing Roof, Green Meadows, Triple-Double, and Pick and Roll.

Special Events Game Modes

1. Boss Fight

This game mode is against Boss Robot, where a player with 2 other teammates must defeat this robot. You can be revived to the game until at least one of your teammates is standing. The team wins the battle after defeating the Boss Robot.

2. Robo Rumble

Team up with 2 other players to defend the safe from Robo Bandits. They will attack from all sides to take away the safe and the difficulty level increases every time your team manages to defend the safe from them.

3. Big Game

Big Game is a 5v1 game mode where 5 players (hunters) fight against the “Big Brawler”. If you are the Big Brawler, you have enormous power and more health. Defeat or elude the hunters and stay alive as long as you can. Being one of the 5 hunters, defeat the Big Brawler by coordinating with your team members.

4. Last Stand

Last Stand is a special events game mode where 2 teammates have to protect the 8-Bit from the Robo army and collect Brawl coins till the end of time. 8-Bit contains some secret codes which are necessary for survival.

By understanding the layout of the map, you can better predict the movements of your opponents and plan your strategies accordingly. Additionally, knowing the locations of power-ups, such as health pickups or special abilities, can also be important for maximizing your chances of victory.
