Pokemon Unite Gengar Gameplay Tips

Gengar excels at chipping away at opponents from range before teleporting in to secure the kills. This tricky Speedster can easily go to the back lane and secure the damage dealer kills from behind. With its high damage skills and spamming abilities, Gengar makes the life of the opponent very uncomfortable in the late game. Our Pokémon Unite Gengar Guide includes the perfect game plan for the early and late game during Unite battles.

Early Game

In the early stages, it is crucial to level up to unlock Gengar’s every set of moves and focus laning with the team. As Gengar is really weak in the early game as Gastly, users should take time to farm and open every set of abilities and try to sneak up some kills. It is recommended to choose Will-O-Wisp first, as its burn effect is quite useful. Gastly can also use Lick to harass enemy Pokemon.

Gengar as Gastly in Early Game

Since Gengar has low durability, avoiding fights as much as possible at the beginning will be the smart move. Users should stay behind another damage dealer and support that Pokemon to secure kills and to defend.

Late Game

After evolving into Haunter and taking Shadow Ball allows Gengar to deal more damage and poke enemies from a distance. But the trainer should keep focusing on supporting the other damaged dealers. Using Lick and Shadow Ball gives the user a good grip to deny enemy escape resulting in some secure kills. Gengar is also a good supporter slaining Rotoms or Drednaws.

Gengar in Late Game

Since Gengar is a  Speedster, it can rotate from the center to other lanes faster than most. This makes Gengar quite dangerous in ganks and useful to join in fights out of nowhere. Gengar is amazing for killing squishy Pokemon in the back lane during battles.

Since it can put them to sleep and reduce their movement speed, Gengar makes escape pretty difficult without any help from allies. Users should focus on supporting their team in every big fight during objective claiming and always focus on the backline damage dealer so that at the right moment a takeout move can be performed.

Positioning

As a Speedster Gengar can be very handy when it’s jungling as the rotation speed will be an additional point for the users. Gengar can also be used in the bottom lane to support a damage dealer and help defeat Drednaw.

Pokémon Unite Gengar: Tips, tricks, and strategies

  1. Though Gengar is a melee Pokemon Gengar is best to use its moves when they are not on cooldown to land ferocious damage.
  2. Sludge Bomb not just damages enemies in the area, but poisons them. Poisoning enemies cause damage over several seconds, so trying to get as many enemies in the Sludge Bombs as much as possible will be handy.
  3. Retreating with Hex is useful and Gengar’s Levitate will allow it to leave with increased movement speed to safety. Gengar is squishy, so users should try to escape if battles are far too risky for them.
  4. Hex cooldown is reduced when using on an enemy with a status condition. Users should keep an eye on what sorts of status conditions your teammates can also implant, so Gengar can spam Hex more often by which the team can dominate team fights.
