Popular mobile game COD Mobile just crossed its first year. And this was indeed a hugely successful year for Activision, the company behind it. According to Sensor Tower, COD Mobile has generated $480 Million (approx.) in player spending during the first year. And this made the game to rank at no 22 in the most earning mobile games of this time! While the first anniversary events are about to hit with the Season 11 in Call of Duty Mobile, figures like this are really jaw-dropping for the community.
COD Mobile had a record-breaking year
The first week of the launch garnered over 100 Million downloads for Call of Duty Mobile. And this accumulated around 148 Million downloads in the first month. However, the revenue figures picked up during the second quarter or 2020.
In the US, Call of Duty Mobile was ranked no 3 after PUBG Mobile and Fortnite. However, in the FPS / 3PS subgenre for Shooters, the game was ranked at the top of the chart.
In terms of revenue generation, the US tops the charts with $215 Million. It is followed by Japan and Germany. And in terms of downloads, US tops the chart again with close to 50 Million. It is followed by Brazil and no 2 and India at no 3.
The future looks bright for Activision
Activision has been really supportive throughout the first year of COD Mobile and this helped in building a positivity inside the community. Their constant support and updates have already shown results. And the same is expected to be followed once the game is launched in China. However, there is no exact release date for China yet. Notably, after the success of COD Mobile Activision has stated that they’ll bring in more IPs to the mobile platform. And one of them could be COD Warzone as per the rumours.
