With the upcoming Project NEXT Update very close, which is technically the Patch 1.8.20 Update in the Main Server of Mobile Legends, we are here with a few balance changes, skins, and more in the Advanced Server. We will test a few things that are about to debut soon in the Main Server and will make their way to the game very soon. The upcoming Project NEXT September 2023 Update will bring a bunch of revamped Heroes, a new hero in the form of Nolan, along with a new UI for the players.
Mobile Legends Patch 1.8.20 Update: Hero Adjustments
Wanwan (Adjusted)
After receiving feedback from various sources, developers have decided to revert all adjustments and bring Wanwan’s control removal ability back. The following adjustments are made based on her current stats on the Official Server.
Passive (↑)
- Basic Attack Damage: 100% Total Physical Attack >> 110% Total Physical Attack (inherited Attack Effects % also increased by the same percentage).
- The interval between Basic Attacks is being increased while standing still. The speed of Basic Attacks, while dashing with her Passive remains the same.
- Her dash speed increases with her Attack Speed is slightly increased.
Skill 2 (↓)
Cooldown: 18-12s >> 24-20s
Mathilda (Buffed)
Skill 1 (↑)
- Base Damage: 350-625 >> 275-500
- The following Damage Decays to 20% >> 40%
Luo Yi (Buffed)
Passive (↑)
Max Speed Up: 30% >> 50%
Melissa (Buffed)
As the meta evolves, the developers have decided to revert some of the nerf on Melissa to make her more competitive.
Skill 1 (↑)
Attack Speed Boost: 35%-75% >> 50%-75%
Lesley (Nerfed)
Developers have nerfed Lesley’s Passive to make her less powerful in fights.
Passive (↓)
Initial Critical Damage: 140% >> 135%
Yu Zhong (Nerfed)
The last 2 patches have made Yu Zhong too powerful in the game, so developers have decided to nerf him a bit.
Skill 1 (↓)
Sharpened Edge’s Damage: 300% >> 275%
Lylia (Nerfed)
After last week’s adjustments, Lylia’s charges not only don’t drop, but they will keep increasing as she keeps hitting the enemy hero. Therefore, developers have slightly adjusted this effect. This is still a buff compared to her stats on the Official Server.
Skill 2 (↓)
Effect Adjustment: When at max level, Gloom’s explosions that hit an enemy hero immediately grant 1 stack of Shadow Energy to Lylia. >> When at max level, Gloom’s explosions that hit an enemy hero immediately grant Lylia 50% Skill Recharge Time.
Others Adjustments
Developers have reverted the adjustments to the following heroes because more testing is needed.
- Vexana
- Nana
- Alucard
- Masha
- Selena
Lunox (Adjusted)
The adjustments to Lunox will still be available on the Advanced Server for further testing.

Equipment changes
Ice Queen Wand (Nerfed)
- Developers have found that the full-stack slow effect is too easy to trigger in the hands of certain heroes, and other heroes have a hard time countering it. So, they have decided to make the slow effect cumulate slower.
- New Effect: The slow effect now has a 1-second cooldown.
Other changes
- The default display interface and the display interface for heroes of Eruditio have been revamped with a significant improvement in graphic quality.
- The Sanctum Island map has been optimized (bases), with new attack animation from the Spawn Point.
A new Custom Action can be used while moving! This will be available for the first time in the MLBB X Ducati event!
Mobile Legends Patch 1.8.20 Update: New skins
- Kaja “Inferno Taskmaster” will be available in Lucky Flip on the 19th of September, 2023.
- The October StarLight Skin, Layla “Twilight Waltz” will be available on the 1st of October, 2023 (Server Time).
- To celebrate the 7th Anniversary of Mobile Legends, developers have introduced the second StarLight Painted skin, Layla “Midnight Waltz”. StarLight members can purchase the second Painted Skin with only 100 Diamonds.
- Johnson’s “Starblazer” skin will be available in the 7th Anniversary Celebration event on the 4th of October, 2023. (Server Time).
- Vexana “The Sun Empress” will be available in the Grand Collection on the 5th of October, 2023.
- Irithel “Monster SP Rider” will be available in the MLBB X Ducati event on the 7th of October, 2023.
- Benedetta “Panigale V4S Rider” will be available in the MLBB X Ducati event on the 7th of October, 2023.
- Pharsa “Neon Shingetsu”, the new Epic skin will be available on the 16th of October, 2023.
