Skill Analysis

Yu Zhong has 4 active skills and a passive skill. His Unique ultimate helps him to transform himself into a black dragon. In this Mobile Legends guide, we will also talk about the skills to use in certain scenarios as well as skill combos to be able to play Yu Zhong to his maximum potential.

Passive – Cursing Touch (Buff)

Yu Zhong applies Sha Residue to the target every time he deals damage to enemy heroes and gathers Sha Essence in the meantime. Sha Residue erupts upon reaching 5 stacks, consuming 1 stack every 0.5 seconds. Each stack consumption deals 30 (+2% Extra Physical Attack) (+target’s 2% Lost HP) Physical Damage, restores 6% of his HP lost and gathers 6 Sha Essence for Yu Zhong. When Sha Essence is fully charged, Yu Zhong gains 30% Movement Speed and 10% Spell Vamp. (During the period, Sha Essence can be restored by dealing damage to enemies. The Movement Speed gain will decay rapidly in 2 seconds.)

Skill 1- Dragon Tail (AoE)

Yu Zhong infuses his power into his cloak and turns it into a weapon, which starts to attack nearby enemies after a short delay. The inner area of the cloak deals 220–400 (+100% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage, whereas the sharpened edge deals 250% damage and applies 2 stacks of Sha Residue. This skill only benefits 40% from Spell Vamp on minions.

Yu Zhong unleashes the Dragon Soul, dealing 150–300 (+120% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage to all enemies in front and slowing them by 60% for 1 second. Upon target hit, Yu Zhong’s next Basic Attack Basic Attack will be enhanced [for 5 seconds], dealing 108–216 (+100% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage and (+100% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage behind the target. Upon multiple target hits, Yu Zhong applies Sha Residue multiple times with the Basic Attack enhanced Basic Attack, dealing up to 200% damage.

Yu Zhong leaps towards the designated area with his full strength, dealing 180–270 (+90% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage. He is able to dash one more time in the movement direction. After a short delay, enemies within the area of effect will be knocked airborne for 1 second and take 180–270 (+90% Extra Physical Attack) additional Physical Damage.

Ultimate – Black Dragon Form (Morph, BUFF)

After channelling for 0.6 seconds, Yu Zhong transforms into the Black Dragon form and starts charging. In up to 7 seconds, he gains Control Immunity, ignores obstacles, and increases Max HP by 600–1000 (+200% Extra Physical Attack), dealing 180–310 (+80% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage to enemy heroes on the path and knocking them back. Upon exiting the Black Dragon form, Yu Zhong deals the same amount of damage to enemies nearby and enters Dragonoid form for 10 seconds with the help of the remaining influence of the Black Dragon. The Dragonoid form improves the range of all his skills.

Skill-up method for Yu Zhong

Players should unlock Yu Zhong’s first skill first, then unlock this third skill. At level three, they can unlock his second skill and upgrade this ultimate whenever available. His first and third skills should be prioritized as these are his main damage sources.

Emblem Setup

The Custom Fighter Emblem ever since its Revamp, provides players with access to 3 different talents. Hence, for Yu Zhong’s Emblem Set-up, the following setup is expected of players:

  • In the First Talent, we choose Adaptive PEN as it provides extra Penetration, mostly useful for Early game Farming and domination.
  • In the Second Tier Talent, players must pick Festival of Blood for extra spell vamp right from the start. This talent will give extra heath regen ability after getting a kill or sustaining longer in team fights. This is the most popular and most effective talent from Fighter Emblem.
  • In the Third Tier Talent, players can pick Brave Smite as it restores 5% max HP after dealing damage to enemies with his skill. This talent will also help when is health is very low. Yu Zhong’s most damage comes from his skills. So it will be easier for him to make the best use of this talent.

Battle Spells

  • Petrify is the most popular and most effective battle spell for Yu Zhong. As it allows him to apply hard CC in single or multiple heroes in teamfights. It is useful in the early game to zone the enemy carry while taking the turtle.
  • Vengeance is also useful in some situations, especially to sustain more damage as a front laner. It can reflect some damage back to the enemy. Flicker is also a good option to chase low-health enemies or to escape tricky situations.

Best Builds for Yu Zhong in Mobile Legends

Yu Zhong’s most damage comes form his passive and other skills. He is not a basic attacker. So it would be better to build him with physical damage, health regen/ life-steal items and some physical or magical defence items based on the enemy lineup. In our guide, we will try out this template with Yu Zhong on the Mobile Legends battlefield.

Start building the Warrior boots while laning, but if the enemy laner deals magic damage build Tough boots. For the second item you can get Hunter Strike if you want to deal more damage and War exe if you need more survivability in the team fights, it will help you to stay longer in a fight because of its passive. For the third item Dominance Ice is a good option as it reaches mid-game, the enemy might have some healing heroes, and Dominance Ice will be a good item to cut healing effects. To increase his sustain even more Oracle is a good item, it gives lots of HP. Then if the enemy has more magic damage heroes build the Athena Shield and of the enemy has more physical damage dealers Antique Cuirass will be a very good item. For the last item, players can build Immortality to have a second chance of surviving.

Mobile Legends Yu Zhong Gameplay Tips

Yu Zhong is a unique Fighter hero with high Regen and damage with great survivability. He is quite strong and should be able to outplay most Fighter heroes in the early game in the laning phase, thanks to his damage and Regen abilities. However, a player must need a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our Mobile Legends guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late gameplay of Yu Zhong.

Early Game

Focus on farming and clearing waves. Yu Zhong is a strong laner, so you should be able to easily outfarm your opponent. Make sure to clear the minion waves quickly so you can rotate and help your team. You can also cut the minion wave before the enemy laner. Harass your opponent with your Dragon Tail. Dragon Tail is a great ability for harassing your opponent in the lane. Players must use their third skill and first skill on the enemy to deal more damage with CC. It deals a lot of damage and applies a stack of Sha Residue. You can use this to whittle down your opponent’s health and force them to back off. Farm the jungle camps when you have the opportunity.

Skill 1 + Skill 2 + Basic Attack

Mid Game

Yu Zhong is very powerful form the mid-game. If the turtle is about to spawn near the lane, players must clear the minion wave quickly or cut the wave if the enemy laner is weaker than them. They can join in the turtle fight. Players must always focus on the enemy jungler or core. Use your ultimate dragon form and zone the enemies. If the enemies are already in position then you can use Petrify and the third skill combo on the enemy jungler. Teammates will be able to kill enemy jungler and easily take the turtle.

Look for opportunities to team fight. Yu Zhong is a good team fighter, so you should look for opportunities to team fight and help your team win objectives. Your Dragon form is a great ability for initiating team fights and can be used to chase down enemies.

Late game

Ultimate + Skill 3+ Petrify + Skill 1+ Basic Attack

Yu Zhong is very strong in the late game. His health regen ability is unstoppable if the enemies don’t use any heal-cutting items. In the late game, the main priority should be the main damage dealer of the enemy Marksman and Mage. Players must use ultimate to chase down the damage dealers and use their third skill combined with the Petrify spell to secure a kill. They can also zone the lord area with your ultimate.

Good guide, I will try your build. Previously I was using Endless Battle, Warrior Boots, Corrosion Axe, Thunderbelt, Bloodlust Axe, Demon Hunter. It was okay but his passive lifesteal didn’t seem to help alot.

About his skills though, a useful combo is S1 -> S3 -> S2, because his S1 has a tiny charge-up, so it will proc when you land from S3, then your S2 will go into enhanced basic attack. TBH he feels a lot like Roger with a Chinese skin.

Yes. Tbh you can create your own combos depending on your playstyle. This is the best combo for this build which includes max lifesteal and use of passive. Do try it out. Hope you’ll get the result.

a big Roger, haha.

Useful guide and I will try out the build. Some combos which people may want to try are listed below: S3 -> S2 -> S1 is useful for ambushing. Using S1 before S3 is kinda weird cos S3 wants to land on the hero to knock them into the air while S1 deals more damage the closer the hero is to the edge. Using S2 while in the charge up for S1 allows you to deal damage during that time and also makes it easier to position the first skill due to the slow down before chasing with the enhanced… Read more »
