Mobile Legends Yu Zhong Guide: Best builds, Emblems and Gameplay tips

We are back with yet another Mobile Legends hero guide and this time the brand new fighter Yu Zhong the Black Dragon. Yu Zhong’s unique passive and extreme CC skills will dominate the Land of Dawn easily. So without any further ado lets hop into its skills.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other Mobile Legends heroes like Wanwan, Pharsa, Carmilla, Hayabusa, Atlas, Luo Yi. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Yu Zhong.

There are five skills possessed by Yu Zhong in Mobile Legends, including his passive skill.

1. Dragon Tail

Mobile Legends Yu Zhong Guide
Dragon Tail by Yu Zhong

Yu Zhong whirls his cloak to deal with damage to the nearby enemies. This skill has a small delay but is the main source of spell vamp or lifesteal for him. The sharpened Edge deals more damage and benefits more spell vamp. So you need to launch this skill in such a position so that you can deal maximum damage by using the sharp edges.

2. Soul Grip

Yu Zhong with his Soul Grip

Yu Zhong unleashes the Dragon Soul towards the enemies dealing damage and slowing them by 40% for 1s. If this skill hits a target his basic attack enhances and applies more Sha Essence based upon the number of targets it hits. He also gets a little dash after hitting this skill, which will help to either to reach an enemy in distance or retreating from an unfavorable position.

3. Furious Dive

Yu Zhong leaps towards the enemy with his full force and makes a circle on the ground. After a delay enemies present inside the circle are knocked up in the air for 1s and dealing a little amount of damage. This is the main CC skill of him which can finish the whole team in one go if used properly.

4. Ultimate: Black Dragon Form

Yu Zhong the Black Dragon

Yu Zhong transforms into a black dragon form and starts charging for 5.5s. He also gains invincible power and ignores terrain in the duration. Enemy heroes that come in contact with the black dragon will be knocked back slightly. After 5.5s Yu Zhong enters Dragonoid form for 10s once he leaves the Black Dragon form, improving the Cast range of all his skills and increasing his max HP. This is the most overpowered skill which can both used as offensive and defensive purposes. This skill can also change the coarse of a gank giving your team a huge advantage.

5. Passive skill: Cursing Touch

Yu Zhong applies Sha residue to the target when he uses his basic attacks and deals damage. When a target is hit by the Sha Essense markings on him starts to appear which can go up to 5 stacks. After reaching 5, Sha Essence erupts, dealing continuous damage. If Yu Zhong is close to the target, he gains HP regen and Movement Speed. This passive is extremely useful in a gank where you have to fight more than one enemy at the same time.

Builds for Yu Zhong

Start by taking Raptor Machete followed by CD reduction boots, or You can also go with Warrior Boots for Physical Damage reduction in the early game. Secondly, go for Bloodlust Axe. It is the core item for Yu Zhong. So don’t go for anything else. Then if you need for damage go for Blade of Despair directly or you can go for Queens Wings for sustainability in the ganks. Then go for Endless Battle and Blade of Despair or you can go vice versa too.

Best Spell and Skill Combination for Yu Zhong

The best spell for YuZhong is Flicker. Using Flicker you can go for the skill combos or get out of a situation as he doesn’t really have a long dash to get out of a situation. If you’re playing as the main offlaner you can also go for the retribution.

Skill combination

Yu Zhong has only one skill combo but that is what makes him deadly in Mobile Legends. We are here to guide you about the combination that can be performed by Yu Zhong in Mobile Legends.

2nd skill+3rd skill+1st skill+Ultimate-(Repeat)

Slow the target with 2nd skill, then jump on him using the 3rd skill, when the target is knocked up use 1st skill to give damage. Use the 1st skill in such a way that its edges touches the target for better damage. Use ultimate and repeat this combo.

Positioning and Gameplay tips

Early game

Start the game by clearing the offlane minions or as his spell vamp is really good you can also start the game from mid with mage. As Yu Zhong has great initiator and  CC skills, any mage can be benefitted from this by taking some early kills. A little farming is needed for Yu Zhong to sustain the damage given. You need to maintain the position in such a sense so that after charging an enemy your team can follow you up. In a gank, you have to either initiate it or finish it. So position yourself accordingly. Try to take away some early kills it will increase the damage in the early game.

Mid game

In the mid-game try to take out some towers and always enter a gank in the last and finish everyone off. Help your marksman and solo push. That’s the only objective of Yu Zhong in the mid-game.

Late game

In the late game, Yu Zhong becomes literally unkillable. So start ganking without any hesitation. Stun your enemies and use the combos, you will win for sure.

Good guide, I will try your build. Previously I was using Endless Battle, Warrior Boots, Corrosion Axe, Thunderbelt, Bloodlust Axe, Demon Hunter. It was okay but his passive lifesteal didn’t seem to help alot.

About his skills though, a useful combo is S1 -> S3 -> S2, because his S1 has a tiny charge-up, so it will proc when you land from S3, then your S2 will go into enhanced basic attack. TBH he feels a lot like Roger with a Chinese skin.

Yes. Tbh you can create your own combos depending on your playstyle. This is the best combo for this build which includes max lifesteal and use of passive. Do try it out. Hope you’ll get the result.

he feels a lot like Roger

a big Roger, haha.

Useful guide and I will try out the build. Some combos which people may want to try are listed below: S3 -> S2 -> S1 is useful for ambushing. Using S1 before S3 is kinda weird cos S3 wants to land on the hero to knock them into the air while S1 deals more damage the closer the hero is to the edge. Using S2 while in the charge up for S1 allows you to deal damage during that time and also makes it easier to position the first skill due to the slow down before chasing with the enhanced… Read more »
