With the latest mid-season update, EA has introduced a brand new in-game Currency, termed Universal Tokens to FC Mobile! Universal Tokens will be replacing Competitive Points that you earn by playing Division Rivals ie VSA and H2H matches. Universal Tokens will bring an extra layer of versatility as they can also be earned by playing the Skill Games and Matches from the new Icon Chronicles event!
Currency is an important aspect of any game to progress forward. Similarly with FC Mobile, Coins, Gems, Silver, and FC Points are the main in-game currencies. While Coins and Gems are available easily just by playing the game, Silver and FC Points are premium currencies and can’t be earned otherwise. What are Universal Tokens in FC Mobile
Universal Tokens are the new form of currency that has been added to FC Mobile. They as their name suggests, are presented as a Universal Token that you can earn by playing Division Rivals and the recently ongoing Icon Chronicles event. In turn, you can utilize them to exchange and earn event currencies for any event in the future.
It’s a versatile token for you to exchange for all other Campaign tokens. Universal Tokens can be earned from skill games and matches in Icon Chronicles, as well as Divison Rivals. You can exchange these Universal Tokens for Division Rivals rewards and Event Progress Currencies.
Therefore from now on, you will be earning Universal Tokens instead of Competitive Points from Division Rivals. Additionally, you will be able to trade in your leftover Competitive Points for Universal Tokens. According to EA, the intention behind bringing Universal Tokens is to add some flexibility as to how you engage with events and earn rewards from the events.
Therefore if you are a player who mainly focuses on Division Rivals, you can still enjoy the game without grinding the events and not fall behind as you still will be receiving the same currency!
How to get Universal Tokens in FC Mobile
As stated before, primarily there are two ways to get Universal Tokens in FC Mobile.
1. Grinding Division Rivals
Since Universal Tokens are primarily replacing Competitive Points, the main way to get Universal Tokens is by playing Division Rivals matches. Similar to Competitive Points, the number of Universal Tokens you get for winning, drawing, or losing a Division Rivals match varies based on your Rank.
Therefore the higher you are Ranked, the more Universal Tokens you earn by playing Division Rivals matches. If you are thinking of earning some Universal Tokens quickly, then grinding Division Rivals regularly can indeed be a great way.
Once the Season ends, you will be given out a handful of these Tokens depending on your Rank for that season. Thereby set the perfect squad, work on improving your VSA, H2H, and Manager mode skills, and go berserk on Division Rivals matches to maximize your Universal Tokens!
2. Playing the Icon Chronicles event
All the Skill Games and Matches in the Icon Chronicles event including the Icon-Specific Tabs hand out Universal Tokens. If you just play the daily skill games and matches, you will be coming out with a fair number of Universal Tokens every day.
Also remember, besides your Division Rivals, Icon Chronicles is currently the only place in the game from where you can get a steady supply of Universal Tokens regularly. Don’t sleep on it! Complete all the PvE AI-based matches regularly, play through the Skill Games, and continue piling up your Universal Tokens.
3. Exchanging your leftover Competitive Points
Last but not least, the final way to get Universal Tokens is by exchanging your leftover Competitive Points. Since they are directly replacing Competitive Points so should you have any Competitive Points remaining, you can trade them off for Universal Tokens at a 1:1 exchange rate in the in-game Store.
Additionally, League vs League tournaments and championships are still giving out Competitive Points. Therefore any Competitive Points you earn by playing with your league mates can now be exchanged for Universal Tokens. Remember there’s no use for Competitive Points anymore, therefore trade them off lest they go wasted.
Where to use Universal Tokens in FC Mobile
Since Universal Tokens have directly replaced Competitive Points, therefore they can be utilized similarly as well, along with a few other uses. They are:
1. Utilize Universal Tokens in the Division Rivals Store
Similar to Competitive Points, you can use your Universal Tokens to claim Gems and both tradeable and untradeable Player Packs. Once you accumulate enough Universal Tokens from the Division Rivals season rewards, you can aim for the tradeable Division Rivals Player Packs. And should you land up with an expensive tradeable player, you can sell him in the market for coins.
Additionally, don’t forget the Weekly Gems Offer! You can trade 1000 Universal Tokens for 2500 Gems once every week. Given Gems is the primary in-game currency and a direct replacement for FC Points, it is needless to state its importance! If you open Event-specific Gem Packs regularly, then this weekly 2500 Gems can prove to be quite helpful in the long run!
2. Exchange Universal Tokens for Event-specific Currencies
Finally, the utilization that actually makes these Tokens Universal! You can also trade your Universal Tokens for any ongoing event-specific Currencies. Currently, this option is only valid with Legend Points, the primary currency for the Hall of Legends event.
At the moment, with Hall of Legends being the only event ongoing, you can exchange your Universal Tokens for Legend Points with a weekly limit. It is therefore expected with more events releasing in the future, we can trade our Universal Tokens for event-specific currencies to gain a headstart in the event on the first day itself!
