Half the year is now done, and with this, half the coverage of the mobile gaming scene is coming to an end. Well, there is still half remaining, and as expected I will be covering the interesting roundups for the coming months too. Week 1: June 01 to June 07

Executive Summary

The first week of Mobile gaming news this June 2024 kicked off with a couple of mobile gaming announcements, with Ballad of Antara and Pudgy Penguins mobile game adaptation coming in 2025. Skul: The Hero Slayer is now available on mobile. BATTLE CRUSH opened pre-registrations as Ash of Gods: Redemption announced its closed beta.

In other news, Valorant Mobile got approved in China, whereas Netflix Games’ Summer 2024 lineup and The Angry Birds Movie 3 were announced.

Week 2: June 08 to June 14

Executive Summary

Covering mobile gaming news for the second week of June 2024, Ding Dong Dang was officially launched on Mobile while Gameloft’s Disney Speedstorm got its release date set. Super Contras: Metal Soldier 2 entered early access for Android. In another big announcement, Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 Remake were announced for iOS devices.

Game of Thrones: Legends RPG and LUNA The Shadow Dust opened pre-registration. Testing continues for Realmkeepers MMORPG and Dark and Darker Mobile. Aptoide launched a free iOS marketplace alternative. Wuthering Waves reached 30 million downloads and earned $36 million in mobile revenue, while Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Shadows was confirmed for iPad and Mac OS release.

Week 3: June 15 to June 21

Executive Summary

This week also saw some game releases, with Werewolf: Heart of the Forest, Tour de France Cycling Legends, and the highly awaited Honor of Kings. New games were announced too, with Project Party and PANDO LAND, and pre-registrations opening for Civilization Mobile: World Origin and Silkroad Origin Mobile.

Google Play is reportedly considering an auto-launch feature for apps post-download. Riot Games delayed the console launch of Wild Rift to prioritize mobile. Apple came under EU scrutiny for alleged competition concerns. Tencent removed Dungeon and Fighter Mobile from certain Android app stores due to a licensing dispute. In Japan, a 31-year-old man spent $250,000 of his grandmother’s money on a mobile MMORPG.

Week 4: June 22 to June 28

Executive Summary

This fourth week of June 2024 had mobile gaming news filled with releases and announcements. Summoners War: Sky Arena celebrates its 10th Anniversary with 220 million downloads, while Birdman GO! debuts as an idle RPG on Android. CookieRun: Tower of Adventures expands globally. Uma Musume Pretty Derby and Kaiju No. 8: The Game announce global releases, alongside Clash Heroes being shelved and Project R.I.S.E being announced.

More game announcements followed with Sword of Convallaria opening pre-registration and Ash of Gods: Redemption beginning its testing on Android. Controversy had more news as Midnight Society terminated Dr Disrespect due to allegations against him. Nazara takes over FAU-G: Domination. Gameloft collaborates with My Hero Academia for Asphalt Legends Unite.

Week 5: June 29 to June 30

Executive Summary

The last two days of June 2024 had a few mobile gaming news to share. Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath launched the funding platform WTFund. Meanwhile, KRAFTON India partnered with KFC, and Gods of Cricket released its trailer.
