What a fantastic year it was for mobile gamers. We experienced a plethora of top-notch games that have arrived on mobile this year. While some of them were worth the type, some simply failed to meet the fans’ expectations. In a nutshell, mobile gamers witnessed a diverse experience and with the launch roadmap of 2022, the upcoming year is going to be even bigger. After this action-packed year, the GamingonPhone editorial team has rated and analyzed the best of 2021 and come up with the GamingonPhone Game Awards 2021.
We have 5 categories this year and each category has its own requirements. And to give chances to more games, we have decided to nominate one game in one category where it suits them best.
GamingonPhone’s Game Of The Year – Pokemon UNITE
Criteria – The most influential and successful game that has launched in all the major markets in this calendar year.
Pokemon UNITE is definitely of the best games that are released this year. From the pre-launch hype to tackling the pay to win MOBA argument, The Pokemon Company and Tencent Game’s TiMi Studios have done a tremendous job in bringing this Pokemon IP to reality. Criteria – A title that has been around for a while and getting constant love and support from its dev team with quality updates. 2021 launch is not necessary.
Since its release in 2020, Genshin Impact has been breaking records. It is one of the games that has set a very high standard for modern mobile games. Even after some community backlashes, the game is still going very strong and is definitely one of the best games that are available on mobile now, not to mention miHoYo’s continuous support and quality game updates.

GamingonPhone’s Best Mobile Port Of The Year – Albion Online

GamingonPhone’s Best Indie Game Of The Year – My Friend Pedro
Criteria – An indie title launched in this calendar year
It was kind of expected that My Friend Pedro would be a decent title after the success of the game on other platforms. However, none would probably guess that the game will be a top-notch experience on mobile as well. With a fantastic 2D experience, My Friend Pedro: Ripe For Revenge is a must-try on mobile devices.
