In a surprising turn of events, Tencent‘s massive open-world RPG based on the Honor of Kings franchise, Honor of Kings: World reveals a 2025 global launch schedule during the 2024 Apple Event. While Tencent or Level Infinite did not specify any particular release date for HOK World, we expect to hear more soon.
Honor of Kings: World development updates have been sporadic until now
First announced back in November 2021, Honor of Kings: World has been in development for a long time now. With TiMi Studio Group taking care of the developments, the game shared its first gameplay trailer in November 2022, followed by a 6-minute long gameplay trailer in October 2023.
And now, after one more year, Tencent Games has officially unveiled the launch plans at the 2024 Apple Event. Interestingly, HOK World got its trademark approval in India earlier this year when the company did not have a single game available in the country.
Players will be amazed by the ultra graphics mode optimized for iPhone 16. It offers an unparalleled visual experience, with higher resolution, advanced lightning effects, powerful global illumination technology, and expanded viewing distance. iPhone 16 will provide the ultimate mobile experience for Honor of Kings: World.
It came to me as a surprise when we did not hear anything about it for a long time. Not even in Tencent Games’ annual conference SPARK, or even in gamescom 2024 where Tencent had its exclusive Into The Infinite showcase. But rather we are getting an update at the Apple Event.
If you don’t know already, Honor of Kings: World was announced as part of the 7th anniversary live stream in China. Tencent announced many other IP expansions including a fighting game, a movie and an autochess game. However, the details on the development updates have been very less since then.
