Ranking Discussion based on the Wild Rift Patch 2.4 builds

Champions like Master Yi, Tryndamere, Kai’sa and Xayah were severely underperforming before the patch. With new overpowered builds that have opened up for them with the Wild Rift patch 2.4 update, it has significantly increased their potential. Let us get into how these items benefit our top-ranked champions.

Powerful champions

Master Yi

Coming from Quickblades and Serylda’s Grudge, Master Yi gets a lot of Ability Haste allowing him to spam his abilities more often along with giving him that Critical Chance. In addition, the passive form Solari Chargeblade really buffs his attack giving him insane outplay potential.

Yasuo

Solari Chargeblade is a new core item for Yasuo because it coincides so well with his passive. Solari Chargeblade grants the user an additional 25% Critical Chance after 3 stacks of Radiance making his build very strong after this 2.4 patch. This is in addition to the stats already present on this item. Paired with Yasuo’s passive which doubles the Crit Chance, this item gives him 100% Crit Rate in the very early stages of the game, allowing him to deal massive damage and dominate his lane.

Tryndamere

Solari Chargeblade synergizes perfectly with Tryndamere’s passive, along with giving him Ability Haste and Attack Speed. The reason is that Tryndamere’s passive allows him to have increased Crit Chance with every level. Around level 6, he will have roughly 55% Crit Chance from his passive. This is paired with the passive form Solari Chargeblade will reach nearly 80% after every 3rd stack of Radiance.

Xayah

Navori Quickblades in particular is excellent with Xayah mainly because of its passive which reduces her non-ultimate ability cooldown by 15%. Xayah was severely underperforming in the previous patch primarily because her ability cooldowns were so much. There was not enough Ability Haste for Xayah. However, with this item, she will be able to utilize her abilities much better than before allowing her to dominate her lane.

Underperformers

Rengar

Rengar’s build is at a serious disadvantage in this patch 2.4 because of the Crystalline Reflector. The hunter was feared for his ability to hunt and kill assassins (ADCs and Mages) due to his armor shredding potential. But due to the introduction of Crystalline Reflector, the squishier champions now have a lot more durability than before. Thus, Rengar has gone down significantly due to his lack of lethality options. However, there might be a chance of a new build path with Crit Chance will open up for him.

Zed

The reason Zed being on that list is because that he has suffered the most in this patch. Not only do the champions now have counters for his Ult, but he also has less survivability. This is due to so many of his matchups being champions with a ton of Critical Damage.

Final thoughts

The new patch has opened up a lot of options for champions who primarily did not have a Critical Chance build. This has allowed us to see some major shifts in the meta. The might be a chance for champions like Camille and Renekton to open up new build paths with Crit Chance items. But for now, the champions benefiting the most are Critical Chance assassins and ADCs. It yet remains to be seen if there are any options for a Crit Rengar, Kha’zix, and Zed since these are the champions who are losing the most in this patch. It will certainly be exciting to see new builds popping up during matches and new ways to counter them.
