Skill Analysis
Senna is a champion with the common five skill sets of one passive and four actives. In this Senna guide, we are going to see how her abilities in LoL Wild Rift work. It is also important to use which skill at the correct point to be in the best shape in the current rank season.
Passive- Absolution
Senna can absorb Mist by attacking souls that spawn from dead enemies. She can also siphon Mist from enemy Champions she hits twice within 4s, dealing 2% of their current health as bonus physical damage. (6-second cooldown per target)
Each stack of Mist grants 1 Attack Damage. Every 20 stacks of Mist grant 25 Attack Range and a 15% Critical Strike Chance. 35% of excess Critical Strike Chance is converted into the physical vamp.
Relic Cannon: The attacks do take extra time to fire, dealing 11 bonus physical damage. Thus, it can briefly grant Senna 10% of the target’s Movement Speed. Senna does not gain Attack Damage on level up. Her Critical Strikes deal 50% less damage.
Skill 1 – Piercing Darkness
Shoots a bolt of piercing shadow through any object, dealing 40 physical damage (+ 40% AD) to enemies and restoring 40 Health (+ 40% AD + 25% AP) to ally champions. Attacks do reduce Piercing Darkness’s cooldown by 1 second(s).
This Ability’s cast range matches Senna’s attack range and its cast time is improved with Attack Speed. It applies on-hit effects to enemy champions.
Skill 2 – Last Embrace
Sends forth a wave of Black Mist, dealing 70 physical damage ( + 70% AD) to the first enemy hit. After a 1 second delay, the target and the other nearby enemies are Rooted for 1.3 seconds.
Skill 3 – Curse of the Black Mist
Dissolves into a cloud of mist for 6 seconds, becoming a Wraith. Allied champions who enter the mist are Camouflaged and become Wraiths when they leave. Wraiths gain 20% Movement Speed, are Unselectable, and hide their identities as long as no enemy champions are nearby.
Camouflaged: These units are hidden from view. They are revealed by nearby enemy champions, turrets, and True Sight.
Skill 4 – Dawning Shadow
Fires a global wave that shields allies from 120 damage ( + 40% AP + 3 per Mist) for 3 seconds, while dealing 250 physical damage ( + 100% AD + 50% AP) and applies Mist to enemies caught in the center.
Skill Up Methods for Senna
Skill up the Ultimate whenever it is available. Regarding other skills, upgrade the 1st skill, then the 2nd skill, and lastly the 3rd skill.
Best Runes Setup and Spells for Senna in Wild Rift
Since Senna has two different roles she can fill in, she has a couple of Runes setups that will be presented. Both Setups will consider the currently available runes in-game and can be changed up for specific enemy team comps.
Support Runes
This Rune Setup is focused on healing and thus being as much sustainable as possible. It will work well against a tanky enemy team.
Font of Life
Especially after its recent buff, Font of Life can now be activated by damaging the enemy with any ability or auto-attack. Senna as support will try to poke as much as possible, therefore, FoL will help out trades not being as bad for Senna and her ADC as without it. A bonus is also Senna´s increased attack range in the mid to late game where activating Font of Life will be much easier and safer.
Brutal
The Brutal rune is used to compensate for Senna´s low and slow damage in the early game. Since Senna is a scaling champion, it is recommended to pick up Brutal to buff her early game, which is not a bad idea.
Second Wind
Since this Setup is about as much sustainability as possible, Second Wind will synergize very well with this playstyle. Combining it with Font of Life will provide the much-needed endurance against tanker team compositions.
Manaflow Band
Senna is a champion very reliant on her Mana bar and usage. Taking Manaflow Band will help to keep the Mana up as much as possible. This is very important when playing against tanks where you want to spam abilities.
ADC Runes
This is a generic ADC Setup that a lot of ADC´s do use. Since two of the items in the Runes are similar to that of the support setup, we will focus on the ADC-specific runes.
Conqueror
This Rune is the basic damage-giving rune for all ADC´s. It stacks either AD or AP the longer a fight will take. This rune compliments Senna´s passive since it both stacks damage.
Bone Plating
Bone Plating is a good rune against assassins since it will block the usual burst damage of assassin champions. When playing as ADC, Senna is likely the weaker/squishier side of your team composition. Therefore, having some extra protection is a good idea.
Battle Spells
Flash
One is not invulnerable even though Senna has an escaping ability in her kit. Therefore, for safety, picking up Flash is advised.
Exhaust or Heal
Both summoners spell support Senna when playing support or ADC. Heal will help you get the healing effects on yourself that are missing in her abilities. The exhaust will synergize very well with her third skill by helping you escape sticky situations.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Senna Gameplay Tips
Senna is a Support and Marksman who is best suited to being played in the Dragon Lane. It needs to be remembered that the Wild Rift’s Map is a mirror so one needs to understand the map side before starting to lane. According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift Senna guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game.
Early Game
Playing as marksmen the early game consists of farming as much gold efficiently as possible. If situations occur, where you can get kills, do not be hesitant to let go of some farm and get the kill gold instead. This will tear the gold gap between you and the enemy team even more up. While farming, one needs to remember to get the minions of gold along with the remaining souls of those units.
As a Senna support, one would poke the enemy team out. They cannot disturb the ADC farming and lose gold too. It would be the most efficient if you use ‘Last Embrace’ to root the enemy to get some free auto attacks. One must not forget to pick up the soul when minions unit die. Be aware that the enemy will try to deny this or wait for you to step up a bit to collect some souls to all in you.
Mid Game
After successfully taking out the turret, players must keep up the farming as the ADC of the team. Therefore, one can get the items faster. While roaming, one must keep an eye out for your own lane as well. Since clearing out the lane is normally your responsibility.
Playing as the support, players must always have to keep an eye on the mini-map to seize out good ganking opportunities on other lanes. Senna´s roam will always benefit her since she can pick up souls on other lanes to boost her range and damage.
Late Game
The late game is where both Senna ADC and Support will shine the most. By then, one would have picked up a good amount of souls. Therefore, the attack range and the damage will have scaled up exponentially. In teamfights, one must try to stay in the backline and align your ‘Piercing Darkness’ with as many allies as possible to heal and put out damage consistently. ‘Curse of the Black Mist’ is a good ability to dodge crucial attacks from enemies. Senna’s Ultimate “Dawning Shadow” will finish up any enemy, while shielding your allies.
One might want to try specific skill combos like this to unleash her full potential.
Skill 2 + Ultimate + Skill 1 + Basic + Skill 3
Champions that counter Senna | Champions that Senna counters |
---|---|
Vayne | Draven |
Nami | Sona |
Tristana | Jhin |
Senna will obviously be going to shine with her better half Lucian as support. She will have a good synergy and combos as a marksman with Lux and Leona.
Final Thoughts
Senna can not only disguise and heal her allies but also dish out some ranged damage. She is a strong champion with a good amount of damage output and utility to play her as a support and an ADC. Being once dead and part of the Black Mist, Senna has learned to control its darkness for her advantage. She and Lucian will definitely shake up not only the meta but also the bot and mid-lane of the Wild Rift. Senna´s kit is very diverse so she can be paired with a lot of champions and team compositions.
