Skill analysis
Rammus is a champion with the common five skill sets of one passive and four actives. In this Rammus guide, let’s see what are her abilities in LoL Wild Rift, and when you can use which skill to be in the top form in the current rank season.
Passive – Rolling Armordillo
Rammus gains 32 Movement Speed when being out of combat. The speed increases to 96 while using Powerball. Rammus as a jungler needs to rotate across the maps. The passive will definitely help in covering that and which will also allow him to support others in lanes.
Skill 1 – Powerball
When active, this enables Rolling Armordillo and accelerates up to 110% bonus movement speed over 6 seconds. Colliding with an enemy will deal 105 magic damage in an area, knocking back and slowing enemies by 40% for 1 second.
Activating cancels Defensive Ball Curls and puts it on cooldown. This is the most used ability of Rammus, which gives him the edge of mobility and ambush attacks. The ability will help him knock enemies back and stun them.
Skill 2 – Defensive Ball Curl
- Spiked Shell: Attack deal 10 bonus magic damage (5+ 10%)
- Active: Brace for up to 6 seconds, slowing Rammus by 30% while gaining 83 Armor (30 + 70%) and 27 Magic Resist (10+35%). While curled Spiked Shell deals 50% more damage and also applies to enemies that attack Rammus.
Rammus will change into a defensive stance, increasing his Armor and Magic Resistance and dealing bonus magic damage thanks to his Spiked Shell. The ability will be very useful to farm jungle monsters and is also the damage-dealing ability apart from the Ultimate.
Skill 3 – Frenzying Taunt
Taunts an enemy champion or monster for1.25 seconds and gain 50% Attack Speed for 5 seconds. Rammus taunts an enemy monster or champion into a reckless assault at him. Additionally, he gains increased Attack Speed for a short moment that is extended if any of his other spells are active.
The ability will be the critical factor in the mid and the late game when Rammus would distract damage dealing enemies. In other words, the ability is mostly to counter enemy attacks or distract them or in LoL terms charm them.
Skill 4 – Soaring Slam
Hop into the air and slam down, dealing 125 magic damage (125+50%) and creating aftershock for 4 seconds. Aftershocks deal 35 magic damage (35+20%) every second and slows enemies incrementally by 12%, stacking up to 60%.
Second slams, range increase with movement speed. Aftershock damages structures. Rammus will hop into the air and slam down, dealing magic damage and creating aftershocks for four seconds. Aftershocks deal magic damage every second and slow enemy incrementally by 12%, stacking up to 60%.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Rammus Gameplay Tips
Rammus has got some ability change as compared to its PC counterpart, but the gameplay is pretty much the same. With the featured ability to be the most mobile champion, Rammus is also good at countering enemies with his tanking abilities. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift Rammus guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game.
Early Game
Rammus is very slow in the early game, even for jungling also. So, the best way would be to use the second ability to jungle fast and unlock all his abilities. Meanwhile, with the help of the first ability try to help out in lanes that are getting pushed.
The abilities can be used to go for a surprise ambush just to break the opponent’s momentum and not for a full ambush and fight. Rammus has very low damage in the early game. So, wait until all skills are unlocked and then go for team fights.
Mid Game
In mid-game, try to max out the second ability as that would actually increase the damage output a bit. This will allow you to more engaged in team fights, especially during Dragon takedowns and Rift. In mid-game, Rammus is very good. With solid tanking abilities, the sustenance in team fights increases. Also, Rammus can get escaping champions with his first ability.
The ultimate here would also act as a support for your team in fights, making the enemies slow and take incremental damage. During mid-game, Rammus has good damage output also which would allow him to get the jungle monsters easily and he can level up fast. This is something that actually is an issue in the early game.
Late Game
In the late game, Rammus is also pretty good. With all his abilities, he is an excellent crowd control champion. The taunt ability is very, very handy in these moments where a second’s distraction can actually make the enemies lose. The most effective way to get rid of his taunt is to use the flash which is also a disadvantage for the enemy champions.
But, if the game gets too stretched out, then Rammus may get useless as enemy ADC can easily get him with their item maxed out. Like most tanks, the role would be to start the ambush and then get out, so the teammates can finish the opponents.
Final thoughts
Rammus is dependent on teamwork. His abilities don’t give him the luxury to go head-on with a champion. Especially during the early game, Rammus is very weak and would even need support for the first jungle monster. It will always be better to have your teammates around while going for an ambush or combat.
Rammus has great durability, so he will be an important piece in team fights especially with his distraction abilities. He is easy to use in combat scenarios, even in the early game. Along with his jungling abilities, he would be the most popular beginner champion to use for lots of players.
