Honor of Kings Alessio Guide: Best Arcana, Build and Gameplay Tips

Captain Red Hawk is here!

Alessio, also known as the Red Hawk Captain, is a newly released hero in Honor of Kings. Alessio is a long-ranged gold laner/marksman with airborne, massive damage output, and the difficulty level is easy, so we can mark him as an A-tier hero. He is from Navenia and had a relationship with the ruler, Milady. Mastering him is not so difficult once you understand how his long-range skill works. In this Honor of Kings guide, we will take a look at the skills, and best builds, including tips and tricks to dominate every game with Alessio.

We have previously discussed how to master playing with other Honor of Kings heroes like Diaochan, Private Ear, Solarus, Lady Sun, Musashi, Mirrorblade, Eternal Sage, Peacekeeper, Arthur, Menki, Angela, and Monkey King. So make sure to check these hero guides as well. For now, let’s focus on Alessio.

Skill Analysis

Alessio is a hero that has four abilities which are one passive and three active. In this Alessio guide, let’s see what are his abilities in Honor of Kings, and when you can use which skill to get the best out of him.

Passive – Rebellious Little Hawk (AOE)

alessio-passive-skill

This passive is very important to Alessio, and it can be considered his greatest virtue in the game. His basic attack can deal Area of Effect damage to enemies and side-by-side extra damage equal to 1% of the target’s maximum HP. But this AoE shell damage can be avoided if he is prohibited from flying.

If Alessio stands still on the ground, he instantly enters his cannoneer state, reducing the interval between his basic attacks by 25%. Whenever he moves, this effect will end. So make your decision wisely about when you need to move and when not to.

Skill 1 – Upgraded Shell

CD – 5 seconds
Mana Cost – 6.5

Upon casting this skill, his next 3 basic attacks are enhanced, and gain a longer range while dealing 200 (+15% Physical Attack) / 216/232/248/264/280 + physical damage equal to 1% of the target’s maximum HP.

Skill 2 – Legendary Hero Debut (Airborne)

CD – 12/11.6/11.2/10.8/10.4/10 seconds
Mana Cost – 70

alessio-skill-2-hok

Upon casting this skill, Alessio throws a smoke grenade, which provides him and his nearby allies with surreptitious movement for the next 3.5 seconds in the designated circle. And that explosion can pop Alessio in the air while increasing his movement speed for the next 0.8 seconds.

In this flying state, he can avoid any terrain on the battlefield, and using his skill 3, or basic attack, helps him stay airborne longer. But he cannot cast Skill 2 once he is in the air.

Skill 3 – Sunset Fireworks Show (Damage)

CD – 45/42.5/40 seconds
Mana Cost – 100

alessio-skill-3-hok

Upon casting this skill, Alessio instantly jumps into the air and shoots five shells at the locked enemy while dealing 400 (+50% Physical Attack) (+8% of the target’s lost HP) / 500/600 amounts of physical damage. But if the same enemy receives all the shell damage, subsequent shells only deal 25% damage to them.

Skill-up method for Alessio

Unlock skill 1 first to poke the enemies, then unlock skill 2, Ultimate, whenever it becomes available.

Best Arcana build and Spells for Alessio in Honor of Kings

Arcana Build

The best Arcana Build for Alessio is:

[Unparalleled (V)*3 + Red Moon (V)*7] + Eagle Eye (V)*10 + [Reaver (V)*3 + Hunter (V)*7]

He is a proper marksman and can deal massive physical damage based on the enemy’s lost health, so we will focus on physical lifesteal, physical pierce, and crit damage.

So, in this build, we can clearly see that unparalleled will increase the critical rate and critical damage, and the red moon will boost the critical rate and attack speed again. Then the green set of eagle eyes will grant physical attack and physical piercing. Lastly, the blue set reaver will boost physical lifesteal, and the hunter will grant movement speed and attack speed side by side.

Battle Spells

Flash is the only spell you need for Alessio. Basically, apart from skill 2, he does not have any escape skills, and though he is very fragile in the early game, maintaining a safe distance is very important. Flash will definitely help you escape from bad situations or close the gap while chasing an enemy. But remember one thing: it has a 120-second cooldown, so use it wisely to avoid deaths.

Best Builds for Alessio in Honor of Kings

One can try many builds on Alessio. All one needs to do is to just follow the enemy’s pick and then decide the role on the battlefield. We have set out the following template in our guide to try out with Alessio on the Honor of Kings battlefield focusing on his role as a gold laner.

  • Boots of Dexterity: This boot will grant you +25% attack speed, and its unique passive swift will provide you +60 movement speed. This is a must-buy boot for him.
  • Shadow Ripper: This can be considered Alessio’s core item. This item will grant +35% attack speed, +25% critical rate, and +5% movement speed. It’s unique passive, Storm Strike, will increase basic attack damage by 40 and, after a successful critical hit, increase attack speed by 20% and movement speed by 5% for the next 3 seconds.
  • Eternity Blade: This is his second core item. This item will boost physical attacks by 110 and critical rates by 20%. It’s unique passive, Relentless, will provide +20% critical damage, and then critical damage will be increased by 1% for every 2% increased chance of critical damage.

  • Sunpool: This is a very important item for Alessio because, basically, it will complement his skills 1 and 3. This item will grant +25% attack speed, +10% critical rate, and +5% movement speed. Its unique passive precision will boost basic attack damage by 50, and this ratio can be doubled on ranged heroes. So for Alessio, it’s 100. Its second unique passive daybreak is the main thing, which is why we prioritize this item. It increases the basic attack range by 150 and movement speed by 40%. Not only that, it will boost your basic attack to deal 30% extra damage to one enemy nearby the target for the next 5 seconds.
  • Daybreaker: This item will grant him a +50 physical attack, +35% attack speed, and +10% critical rate. So we can clearly see that we set our Arcana build according to our build, which will fulfill their requirements. This item’s unique passive sunder boosts physical pierce by 40%, and Daybreaker boosts basic attack damage by +100.
  • Bloodweeper: This item can be considered his last weapon. This will grant you +100 physical attacks, +25% physical lifesteal, and +500 max HP. It’s unique passive revive will help you recover 400–600 HP within 5 seconds when your health drops below 30%. But this effect has a 20-second cooldown after its use.

Honor of Kings Alessio Gameplay Tips

According to Alessio’s skill-casting abilities, we can categorize him as an easy-to-play type hero. He is very strong in gold lane. According to his gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our Honor of Kings Alessio guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late games of the game. However, a player must have a good understanding of the map to get the most out of any hero.

Early Game

At first, buy the general boot and then head towards the gold lane. Unlock your skill 1 and clear the first wave of minions. If your support helps, try to poke enemies in the lane. If not, then just press skill one and poke enemies from a safe distance. Try to capture the side-lane river spirit.

If the enemy jungler tries to invade your team, your red buff will instantly rotate and give him a hard time after reaching skill 2. If you do not feel safe, just escape from there. Spam skill 1 and then basic attack in this phase, and press skill 2 if needed.

Mid Game

In this phase, try to focus on your farm and do not extend or tower drive. If the enemy MM is in a gold lead, then you will have a hard time. Just focus on your build and try to buy core items as fast as you can. But during this time, help your team with proper rotation and securing an overlord or tyrant.

If you feel that you are under pressure or that the enemy can gank you, then stay under your turret and combine Flash with your skill 2. If possible, prioritize Sunchaser. Your main target is destroying the enemy’s turrets, not just gathering kills. So be practical while securing objectives.

Late Game

In this phase, Alessio shines the most. Try to hide in the bush; do not show yourself often on the map, and the opponent assassin will bully you easily. Just spam basic attacks with your skill one, and while in the air, use basic attacks, which will help you stay a bit longer in the air.

Use skill 2 very carefully because it will help you cross terrain or chase a low-HP enemy. Use skill 3 wisely on enemies because it will deal more damage to low-life enemies, and before casting your ultimate, do not forget to press your main player’s sun pool. It will automatically give you an upper hand by providing a long range. Players can utilize the following combo to gain a stronghold on the battlefield.

Skill 1 + Basic Attack + Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Sunchaser + Skill 3 + Skill 1 + Basic Attack

Final Thoughts

This newly launched Marksman will definitely change the whole meta in the game, and players can experience a brand-new synergy in the game. Not only that, if you can use it properly, it will terrorize enemies in the late phase. But the main problem is that he is very fragile in the early to mid-phase and mainly relies on his items, so unexpected deaths or being ganked by enemies will slow down his main damage output.

An excellent pick for rank games, Alessio is definitely a good pick for the current meta. These tips will surely help you to guide easy wins with Alessio in Honor of Kings. Crowd control is also a great threat to him, so play carefully. Alessio can be considered a must-play hero if you are playing solo.
