Skill Analysis

Nami is a champion with the common five skill sets of one passive and four actives. In this Nami guide, we gonna see how her abilities in LoL Wild Rift work and when you should use which skill to be in the best shape in the current rank season.

Passive – Surging Tides

Allied champions touched by Nami´s abilities gain 60 Movement Speed (60 AP + 20% AP) for 1.5 seconds.

Skill 1 – Aqua Prison

Fires a bubble, dealing 75 magic damage (+ 50%) and knocking up for 1.5 seconds.

Skill 2 – Ebb and Flow

Launches a stream that bounces 3 times between allied and enemy champion, healing allies for 55 (+ 30%) and dealing  65 magic damage (+ 50%) to enemies. Can hit each target once. Healing and damage values are modified by -15% (-7.5%) each bounce.

Best Runes Setup and Spells for Nami in Wild Rift

Runes Setup

Wild Rift Nami Guide
  • Font of Life – FoL is really good on Nami and gives her and her allies extra healing onto her 2nd skill for example.
  • Weakness – Since Nami´s power lies in the strength of her allies Weakness synergizes with her empowering abilities.
  • Second Wind – This rune will help with sustainability during laning phase and teamfights. The regeneration effect also makes Nami able to use her healing abilities more on her allies than rather herself.
  • Manaflow Band – Manaflow Band helps to keep up the mana energy thus giving Nami more opportunities to spam her abilities.

Battle Spells

  • Flash – Flash is almost every champion’s 1st summoner spell, especially for someone being as vulnerable as Nami is.
  • Either Exhaust or Heal – It depends on your own playstyle and what spell your ADC is taking. For aggressive gameplay with your ADC already having Heal, you might pick Exhaust. Taking Heal is beneficial if your Duo partner has Barrier and if you consider synergizing with items such as Harmonic for example.

League of Legends: Wild Rift Nami Gameplay Tips

We already established that Nami is a Support best suited to being played in the Dragon Lane. Always remember that the Wild Rift’s Map is a mirror so make sure you understand the map side before starting to lane. According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Our League of Legends: Wild Rift Nami guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late game.

Early Game

Nami is probably the strongest poke champion in the early game in the current Wild Rift champion pool. The reason for that is her safe poke. Nami can stay behind her ally and use her skill Ebb and Flow to heal them and also poke the enemy simultaneously Always be aware of your positioning since her abilities have a long-range.

This makes Nami safe from upcoming ganks. Make sure to not spam your abilities that much during laning phase since Nami is very mana-hungry. Always keep an eye on the mini-map to see if the enemy jungler might come to your lane or to counter roam the enemy´s support. A good ability combo is using Tidecaller´s Blessing and auto-attack the enemy to slow them down. Shortly after that, you can use Aqua Prison with success.

Mid Game

To be honest Nami is not the best roaming support since she is squishy and can be attacked easily in the jungle. This does not mean she should not counter roam or miss out on good roaming opportunities. After laning phase tries to be in as many team activities as possible since Nami´s whole kit is about empowering her allies and start engages for them.

Especially her Ult Tidal Wave combined with her 2nd ability is a game-changing mechanic. Being able to slow down and make the enemies unable to attack back for some time is very strong.

Late Game

After a successful mid-game Nami can do a lot of options: staying with her ADC to keep them secure, roam around with the jungler and looking for kills, or support the whole team in general. Nami is the strongest with her teammates so try to empower your team most of the time. On your own, you should ward or check and clean out enemy wards.

Depending on your build you should be able to spam your empowering and healing abilities as much as needed. You might want to try specific skill combos like this to unleash her full potential. Additionally, you can perform the following skill move to use Nami to your advantage.

Ultimate + Skill 1 + Skill 3 + Basic + Skill 2

Nami could technically be played with a lot of ADC but she truly forms the strongest pairs and serves as Best Combos with Draven, Miss Fortune, and Jinx.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, Nami is true support who shines the brightest with her team. On her own, she is pretty weak and vulnerable. Her Aqua Prison ability combined with her passive can help her escape sticky situations nevertheless. Nami´s playstyle is very much passive and staying in the backline, although her abilities are good team fight engages. All around she is a strong pick as enchanter support who is a jack of all trades.
