Pokémon Unite Dodrio Movesets
Dodrio would have a predecessor evolution form, Doduo. Being a speedster, its preferable lane should be the middle one. The Pokémon is to be accompanied by a Dash Gauge, whose mechanics have been mentioned below accordingly. The moves are as follows:
Basic Attack
The skill becomes a boosted attack with every third attack, dealing consecutive blows to the user’s head. If the user’s dash gauge is full and it hits an opposing Pokémon with a basic attack, the user’s move cooldowns are reduced. Also, when the user’s dash gauge is full, its basic attack will have it charge in the direction it’s moving and consume the whole of the dash gauge.
Passive Ability – Run Away
The Pokemon’s movement speed increases when opposing Pokémon are nearby. While the Pokémon is moving, its sprint gauge charges. When its sprint gauge is full, the Pokémon starts running with increased movement speed. If the Pokémons’ movement speed decreases below a set speed, the sprint gauge will rapidly deplete.
When Doduo scores a goal, it evenly divides its collected Aeos energy into two portions and deposits them into the goal one at a time. After Doduo evolves into Dodrio, when it scores a goal, it evenly divides its collected Aeos energy into three portions and deposits them into the goal one at a time.
Ability 1 – Peck
- CD-5s
- Type- Melee
This flying-type move has the player move forward while jabbing with its beaks. When the sprint gauge is full, the player instead charges forward, while jabbing with its beaks. Using this move fully consumes the sprint gauge.
Ability 1 Upgrades
At some point in time, upon the level increase, which we don’t know which level as of yet, Peck can be upgraded to either of these moves.
Drill Peck | Tri Attack |
---|---|
This Flying-type move, has the user move forward while striking with its sharp beaks multiple times, dealing damage to the opposing Pokémon it hits. When the player’s sprint gauge is full, the user dashes forward while striking with its sharp beaks multiple times, dealing damage to the opposing Pokémon it hits and shoving them. Using this move fully consumes the sprint gauge. | The skill has the user attack with its beaks, in a cone in front of itself, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon and applying one of the following random effects: a decrease in Attack and damage over time for a set amount of time, a decrease to basic attack speed, or a decrease to movement speed. When the player’s sprint gauge is full, the user instead shoots out three projectiles, one red, one yellow and one blue, in the designated direction. If a projectile hits an opposing Pokémon, the projectile deals damage and applies one of the aforementioned effects based on its colour. After this move, the user’s next basic attack deals additional damage and restores some of the user’s HP. One may keep a maximum of two uses of this move. |
Upgrade: The skill reduces this move’s cooldown. When this move hits opposing Pokémon, it restores a portion of the user’s HP based on the amount of damage dealt. Type– Melee CD– 7.5s | Upgrade: The user, next basic attack after using this move restores more HP. When the user’s sprint gauge is full, this move’s cooldown is reduced. Type– Melee CD– 1s |
Ability 2 – Quick Attack
- Type– Dash
- CD– 10
The skill has the user dash forward, increasing its movement speed for a short time and dealing damage to the opposing Pokemon it hits. This move’s cooldown is reduced if it hits opposing Pokémon.
Ability 2 Upgrades
Quick Attack has the following upgradation options which are available.
Agility | Jump Kick |
---|---|
The skill removes all status conditions from the user. It charges its sprint gauge. Afterward, the user, movement speed increases for a short time and its sprint gauge, charges faster. | This move makes the user leap forward while kicking. If this move makes contact with an opposing Pokémon or obstacle, the user leaps over it and stomps the ground when it lands, dealing damage to the opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. Also, if this move makes contact with an opposing Pokémon or obstacle, the user’s sprint gauge charges. If the move makes contact with an opposing Pokémon, its cooldown is reduced. |
Upgrade: After this move is used, the user’s sprint gauge becomes fully charged. Type– Buff CD– 10s | Upgrade: When the player stamps the ground after leaping, the opposing Pokémon in the area of effect are also left unable to act. Type– Dash CD– 8s |
Unite Move
The move has the user run to the designated location. While running, the user is immune to hindrances. If the user makes contact with opposing Pokémon while running, it deals damage to them and throws them into the air. When the user arrives at the designated location, its attack increases for a short time, and it is granted a shield. Also, its sprint gauge charges faster for a short time.

Pokémon Unite Dodrio Gameplay Tips
Our Pokémon Unite Dodrio guide includes the perfect game plan for the early and late games during Unite battles.
Early Game
The game starts with a Dodrio. The mechanism for Doduo is pretty much similar. Take the jungle, and keep moving around the map. Score goals by switching between lanes to stack your items. Here is a move combo you may try out after you start by moving around to fill up the Sprint Gauge.
Then seek out a target, then use Quick Attack to initiate. While keeping momentum, use Peck to finish the combo. If you manage to maintain the Run Away gauge, Peck will deal increased damage.
Since there is much in the jungle on the new map, leveling up won’t be a problem. Remember that a fully charged Sprint gauge would give you a boosted Basic Attack. You may also use Peck or Quick Attack for quick retreats.
Late Game
In the late game too, just keep moving your feet. Focus on scoring goals to double them, during the final stretch. Remember to reduce the cooldown of your moves with Baic Attacks. Also, the move Agility can help with a speed buff which in turn helps fill up the sprint gauge. Use the Unite move for ganking your opponents, or to retreat. You may also initiate it during the Final Stretch to quickly score a goal when it is empty.
Try using Drill Peck only when the Sprint gauge is full, for the best results.
Positioning of Dodrio
For the Ranked or Standard Battle in Theia Sky Ruins, the recommendation would be the Jungle or Bottom Lane. However, do switch between lanes once you level up.
Dodrio with other Pokémon
Our Pokémon Unite Dodrio guide would also talk about the relationship between Dodrio and other Pokémon.
Best synergies with Dodrio
These Pokemon would be the perfect synergy for Dodrio, especially in the game later. Although speedsters are actually expected to play solo a lot. However team game is necessary at some point. If so, try to stick together with the Supporters.

Pokemon which are strong and weak against Dodrio
Pokémon that Dodrio counters | Pokémon that counters Dodrio |

Pokémon Unite Dodrio: Tips, tricks and strategies
Our Pokémon Unite Dodrio guide includes the perfect game plan for the early and late games during the Unite battles.
- Keep in mind that Dodrio’s play style is actually about avoiding direct fights with opponents, especially solo fights. Fight only when the rest of your team is around. Otherwise, focus on jungling, collecting dropped Aeos energies and scoring quick goals.
- The basic requirement for playing with Dodrio is to stroll around the field every time. NEVER stop, not even during fights, and there is absolutely no need to go defensive and defend goals, especially in the initial stages.
- Be mindful of opposition Speed Flux zones and Slow Smoke, which might slow you down.
- The move Agility and items like Float Stone and X-speed are the most beneficial synergies for Dodrio, use them.
- Controlling Dodrio would require practice since the right side buttons (move buttons) won’t function as direction buttons for this Pokemon. Dodrio would only attack in the direction your left-hand direction controller would point to. However, only the move AGILITY would be an exception.
- Remember that Dodrio or Doduo, score in three or two separate parts respectively, however, stacking items would only work if all the 3 portions are completely scored. Hence, if in case an interruption occurs after the first or second dunk, stacking won’t be done.
- However, if the opponent Goal has only 10 health left (suppose) and you want to over-dunk it with 30 Aeos Energy, it won’t be possible, because Dodrio would score in 3 parts, and only the 1st 10 Aeos Energy can be dunked.
- Overdunking can be only possible if the goal is left defenceless by Regieleki. In that case, Dodrio would score 30/40/50 Aeos Points at once.
- Lastly, players must avoid using it much in Ranked Matches until they master all of its moves and playing style. They should use offline mode or Standard Battles as their Practice Arena.
Final Thoughts
The long-anticipated Speedster has met expectations according to many. The controls of Dodrio however, need practice. So, do practice a lot before playing ranked matches. For more updates, do keep following our news and guides.
