Wild Rift Patch 3.1 Update Tier List: Meta Discussion

Baron Lane Tier List

Fiora has been dominating Baron Lane for quite a while now, and Patch 3.1 will be no different. A 10 base-damage reduction on her first ability Lunge, has not been enough to move her from the throne. Renekton and Darius, as always, are very strong and stable picks. Both of them have great teamfight potential and very few counter matchups.

Shen is one of the most balanced Baron laners, though he could use a little buff to his damage-dealing capabilities. He is also a good counter to Master Yi, who we will talk about next.

Jungle

Oh, how the jungle meta has been shaken! Although Lee Sin is still the best jungler, Master Yi has risen through the ranks, wreaking havoc on his way to the S tier. Alpha Strike, his first ability, now strikes a single target 4 times, if there are no other targets in the vicinity. This has massively helped his jungle clear speed, and his farming power is insane right now.

Master Yi in Wild Rift (Image by Riot Games)

He is being banned in Platinum+ elo a lot more than before. If this goes on, he will keep running through entire teams with his monstrous damage. His On-hit effect build with Blade Of The Ruined King, Wit’s End, Death’s Dance, and Sterak’s Gage has helped him cut down even the mightiest of foes, while also having great sustain and more health. His crit-based build is viable too, but it makes him very squishy, and hence a bit weaker.

Some direct counters to Master Yi right now are:

  • Shen, with his third ability, Shadow Dash, taunts the enemy.
  • Rammus is really good against Attack Damage-based, basic attacking champions.
  • Jax‘s third ability, Counterstrike, stuns the enemy, hence making him a good option against Yi, and he is also considered one of the best duelists in the game.

Mid Lane

Zed and Diana are the two most stable mid-lane picks. Diana is a strong team fighter, while Zed is one of the best assassins in the game. Both of them can have a great impact around the map, and in the hands of a masterful player, they can demolish the Rift in their own unique way. Diana being a bruiser, can dish out as well as tank damage, and her ultimate is one of the best crowd-control abilities in the game.

Irelia got a buff in Patch 3.1 Update, making her late-game stronger. This could potentially bump her up into the S tier, but for now, we are keeping her where her rightful place is.

Attack Damage Carry (Marksmen)

Kai’Sa and Varus continue to be the best Attack Damage Carry in Patch 3.1. What is worth noting though, is the buff to Stormrazor has provided many crit-based ADCs with a boost of power. Caitlyn, Jinx, Xayah, Jhin, and Tristana are loving this item, and may slowly even rise into the S tier. There are not many changes here.

Support Tier List

It is the time to shine for hard-engage, crowd-control support champions this season. Thresh, Alistar, and Rakan are CC’ing enemies left and right, while Yuumi quietly keeps buffing her allies and poking as required.

The addition of Karma has been a boon for enchanters, and she is a balanced support champion with valuable healing and shielding abilities. Braum can be viable against the heavily engaged supports, and his peel power for his team is very strong.

Final Thoughts

The meta right now appears to be a late-game-focused one. A lot of scaling champions are doing well, and CC is all over the place. Perhaps, some of the very overpowered champions will get nerfed, while some others may get reworked or hot-fixed. One can keep an eye out on the Tier List, as we will update it if anything changes.

Legend

It’s a late game focused meta but you have kayle as worst tier??? Doesn’t make sense. Also Teemo you have D tier but he beats fiora in lane and anybody who is a counter to am S tier chanl usually gets a high rank as well. A good teemo player is nasty. Everything else i agree with. Senna has been the worst support and probably 2nd worst champ in the game yet seems to be picked every single gane and its annoying. The other worst champs were shyvana and amumu who are absolutely terrible but I will rate amumu higher… Read more »
